“Best Choice Hotels option near Disney so far”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2012

This was our third time at this hotel in the past year. We first stayed here almost a year ago based on reviews. It is still the best Choice Hotels option that we have found so far near Disney. Our second stay was not great as our room had not been properly cleaned when we arrived (we complained about that stay and were comped one night). But this time it was clean and we had no complaints. Breakfast is not bad for a free breakfast including make-your-own waffles, bagels, some hot foods, fruit, yogurt, etc. For the price, this is still our #1 choice in the area. If you want to pay another 40-50$, there is probably something nicer.

I satyed at this location last January and enjoyed the stay. I always travel with my small dog and pick hotels that are pet friendly. When I arrived at the property this Jan, the clerk advised me that she did have a room, but not a "pet friendly room"...this created a immediate problem, as it was almost midnight, I had been driving for hours, and had to find another hotel. As a Choice Privileges member, I feel that this should have been communicated on the Choice Hotels website when I booked the reservation. It was not. I allways confirm that I have a pet with me at registration at any hotel, and I must say that the clerk on duty was very polite, cancelling the reservation without penalty. Again, great Hotel, great rates, new rooms, but call the Hotel directly if you have a pet. Choice Hotlels left me (and my dog) without a place to stay!

We stayed for a week in Jan., 2012. This is not a luxury hotel, but very, nice, especially for the price we paid. The staff was wonderful--helpful, friendly. The breakfast included many options. Our room was very nice and clean. Our bed mattress was of good quality and firm and was covered with a down comforter; we slept very well. The hotel is only a short drive from the entrance to the Disney parks. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is not upscale, but we never felt unsafe. If we're ever back in Orlando, we would stay here again. The only negatives--pool is small, without jacuzzi and I didn't see evidence of a fitness center. However, we were in Orlando to visit theme parks, so we didn't miss those amenities.

This was better than expected. For $60 a night, a full breakfast (eggs, sausage, bagels, toast, yogurt, danishes, Frosted Flakes, raisin bran, do-it-yourself waffles, juice, coffee), updated room, cable TV with Disney channel, wifi, coffee maker, fridge, and even hand towels folded in a fancy shape to hold our toothbrushes-- wow! The staff was very friendly with every request. We didn't get to use the pool since the temps were in the 40s, but it looked nice.
My advice to anyone hoping to use the shuttle-- don't bother. The schedule is not great--7:30a and 10a approx. to Epcot, then you have to take a ferry and tram. It took us a full hour and a half to get to Magic Kingdom. Then at the end of the night you can go back really early at 5:30p (approx.) or extremely late, around 10p. We were done at about 8, and with 3 little kids, decided to take a taxi. This cost us $20! Simply parking the car at the park costs $14, so that's what we did the rest of our stay.

Stayed for two nights in January. We had been in Orlando in December and stayed at the Pointe, which was beautiful, but were on a tighter budget this time around. It's not the nicest place I've ever stayed, but for the money, I don't think it can be beat. It is a basic, clean motel room...nothing more. It's close to Disney and there are dozens of restaurants and shops within walking distance, which is a big plus.

There is a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in room, plus iron and ironing board. As others have stated, they only give you one bar of soap for sink and tub, so I knew to bring an extra bar with me, lol! Thanks for the tip!

The rooms can be noisy, so if you have someone above you with children running back and forth, that could be an issue. The walls seem kind of thin and the floors were tiled, not carpet, so that could be part of the noise problem. They do allow pets I believe and we heard a barking dog for awhile the first night, but it stopped after about 15 minutes. I was getting ready to call the front desk to complain.

We did not try the breakfast, so I can't really comment on that. Towels were thin, but plentiful. Hubby said coffee supplied in room was very good. Overall, a decent, clean room for the night and an excellent value.

Stayed one night. Would not go back. Owners very nice. Probably closest cheap nationally known chain to the parks. As a single woman traveling....I would not stay here. Rooms cheaply remodeled. Many foreign guests. Many milling about in the parking lot. Room key never worked after 3 trips to front desk, arrived late, left early....never went in and out....so just gave up. Beds seemed small, but had great mattresses. One of the beds linens had "blood" stains. Elevator old. Safety features on it did not work. Breakfast ok. Over heard several others wondering how this hotel rates so highly on trip advisor. I have to agree. I will not be back.

We booked this hotel through their website based on others' reviews. Well, they were right. This place is great! Everything from the service, comp toiletries, shuttles to the local attractions, and the cleanliness of the room is wonderful. Stay here, it's worth it.
