“Nice hotel, clean and we have no complaints”

We stayed in building 10 second floor in a 2 bedroom suite. Our visit was during the first week of february 2016. Our suite was very clean and the master bathroom very large. I was impressed with everything in the kitchen. There are no elevators so if you have issues with mobility, I recommend staying on the lower floors, but be aware that you will hear the people above you walking. It was on 20 minutes away from DisneyWorld, so for staying off site, it wasnt very far at all. We would return.

Room Tip: if quiet is what you seek, go higher up

Stayed here for a week in mid September of 2015. Our first impression was, wow! We were able to book the room through the AFVC website. The room was new and updated kitchen and bathrooms. The beds and dressers were a little dated but still nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the fresh orange water in the lobby daily. We did the sales pitch down the road, and even though they paid us for it, we will skip next time. The pool area was clean and nice, one of the pools was being updated during our stay. Convenient to stores, restaurant and the Disneyworld resort. Would recommend staying here.

We stayed at Polynesian Isles for a week at the end of January. We had a 2 bedroom condo through a time share on the third floor of building 9. The location was great, right around the corner from the front of the resort. There was a view of the fountain and pool from the balcony. The fountain was really beautiful but a bit loud. We didn't mind, but if you're looking for a quiet room this is something to consider. We didn't use any of the resort facilities as we spent our entire trip at Disney but the grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. I was told the pool was heated but unfortunately the weather was horrible while we were there so we didn't get a chance to go swimming. There were grocery stores and souvenir shops very close by which was nice. The only thing that was a little annoying is that there is no elevator so we had to carry our bags up all the stairs. Overall we had a great stay!

Room Tip: Building 9, Room 934 has a fountain view which is really nice

Summarized:
NICELY REFURBISHED
NO ELEVATORS
GOOD LOCATION

Photos posted by other TripAdvisor members more accurately depict the resort's accommodations than those on the resort's web site, for Phase I and Phase IV. Not sure what the difference is between the two, but our 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit has definitely been upgraded, and is very nice. I'm also not sure if you can specify a refurbished unit, but it is noticeably nicer - look at the pics. We'd asked for ground level but it wasn't available "due to being a busy time of the year." (We checked in about 9 pm on Tuesday and the parking lot wasn't even a third full. Even the weekend was only slightly more crowded.) So, we ended up on the 2nd floor - NO ELEVATORS! Unit #822 was well furnished, except for no ceiling fan in the queen bed guest room. The large gap under front door makes you wonder, what might be able to come and go? Large flat screen TVs in living room and both bedrooms, with many channels from which to choose. Each of the 3 floors in our building had 2 side-by-side units per landing, with a new, large-capacity washer and dryer in the area between the two units' front doors. Exterior access is not ideal, but it is convenient and clean. Both units also share a single, large capacity water heater. Not so much a problem with supply, except the max water temp is limited to 110 degrees, which is a disappointment for those who prefer "hot" showers/baths. Air conditioning worked great. The patio was fully screened in, I suppose in order to protect against mosquitos. Here's the worst part: insulation from overhead foot traffic and exterior stairwell is woefully, and surprisingly, lacking. Sounds of the thundering herd!!! Could have rated the resort a "3", but the good far out weighed the bad. It's a good location for Disney parks, and a new part of the city for national chain retail and restaurants can be a 10 min drive east on 192 and north on Houghland/Dyer to Oceola Parkway. If you're new to the area and want to avoid toll roads, use your vehicle's or phone's GPS/mapping feature and engage the "Avoid Toll Roads" option. Finally, the always smiling staff have been very friendly, with lots of "Welcome home" greetings. I suppose it's to convey a warm and fuzzy, family oriented feeling.

When we left I felt like we were leaving home. It's not fancy but it's comfortable. We had the two beed/bathroom suite and there was lots of space for everyone. We had at least one meal a day in the suite and aside from the steadily declining number of pots/pans and other kitchen items, we managed to get meals prepared.

The carpets look like they were recently replaced, and it was needed, and the wifi has improved over the previous supplier, although I would still like them to get rid of the captive page altogether and have either open wifi of a WPA password.

There are pools and BBQs with enough room for everyone. My wife used the gym, which she found adequate and the kids and I spent quite a bit of time in the pool when we weren't at Disney World.

We recently stayed for four nights at the Polynesian Isles resort. We rented a one bedroom unit, but we were upgraded to a beautiful two bedroom apartment. Our four year old grandson was thrilled to have his own bedroom. I can't say enough good things about this resort. The location is perfect - very close to Disney if that is why you are there. Very quiet and off the main drag if you just want to relax. Two minutes away from groceries, restaurants, even an urgent care center. The two pools, 4 hot tubs, playground etc. were all wonderful. Staff were excellent. The unit was very clean and updated, but was not so fancy that we had to worry about the little guy ruining things. Washer and dryer were in the unit - wonderful! Starter kitchen and laundry supplies were provided. Kitchen was beautifully equipped. 24 hour security. We just loved it and have already booked again.

This place is the greatest. My family, of nine had to come to Kissimmee for my Dads funeral, I wanted us all together, needing three condos. Connie at the resort worked with me for two days to arrange that all our rooms (3) were all together. We were able to all be in our own building, everyone was so comfortable during on sad time, we could hangout in each others condos, without running all over the resort. We will never stay anywhere else.. Kudos to Connie
