“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

Stayed here for five nights in August......stayed in the grass area with elect....water ....and sewer........for $35 per night........while there........it rained off and on for two days.......and this area became a wet mess that didn't dry out

Overall the park is ok......clean but somewhat needing attention

I had a very nice time with my family at Tropical Palms. We had alot of fun at the pool and the cafe food was fast and delicious. New items on the menu were a big hit with us. There are plenty of new young staff, but they are very friendly, always smiling, and willing to help on the drop of a dime. My room was very clean and we didn't see any bugs. We will be back.

Room Tip: Premium or Platinum-Worth it!

We stayed here with our Rv last weekend. The only thing to do on site was the pool. It was SO crowded. They did play good music & there is a snack bar there. They also sell beer & wine-based rum, and rum-based vodka. The daiquiri was so sweet & gross I had to send it back.
They also have a big blow-up slide for $5/day. Alot of kids were using this!
The location is good because you are right behind old town do you can walk off property & have lots to do!
The people who were here basically come every wknd & party. They weren't even watching their own kids. We had a 6 year old trying to bring our son over to eat some random persons left over French fries. We asked where his parents were & were told they had gone back to their camper.
All in all, we won't be back. The property was nice but the people staying here were all redneck dirtbags.

Just returned from a family reunion at Tropical Palms Resort. We rented a premium cottage that was suppost to be one of their best. After checking in, we found the blinds were missing slats, but this was a minor issue and they sent a maintenance guy over to repair the blinds. This should have been taken care of before we arrived. The big problem with this cottage was the bugs. Big bugs came out at night and small bugs were spotted in the bathroom. My wife has a fear of LARGE BUGS and could not sleep after seeing six large bugs the first night at the cottage. We reported the problem and was told that only the night security guy was on duty after 11 pm. and we would have to wait until the next day before the cottage could be sprayed. Since we live approx. 1.5 hours away, at 12:00 midnight, we left and returned home and came back the next day to participate in the family activities. The cottage was sprayed the second day and we only spotted one bug the second night. No adjustments were made to our bill. The problem was reported to the manager and he promised to get back with me. As of today, I am still waiting for the phone call.

Room Tip: Try another location.

Stayed here at the end of May 2012 in a 40 foot RV with a 12' trailer. It was a very nice, clean park with level parking sites and many pull-thru sites. Nice pool, laundry room. Would stay here again. Close to Old Town and fast food places. You won't be disappointed.

I was very excited to return to tropical palms with my family. I booked five months in advance, smothered is no excuse for the horrible cottage we recivied. Upon arrive I found that the staff consisted of mainly teenagers. Staff was very unorganized and seemed to be having an argument between each other. The grounds still look good and so does the pool area. After pulling up to our cottage and seeing how unkept it looked on the outside I began to have doubts about the inside. The outside siding had mildew on it. Outside decks needed painted. From the outside of the windows you could see that almost every blind was bent and hanging in all directions. The cottage we were assigned had chairs under two windows as if someone had been crawling into the windows. As I entered the cottage the carpet was filthy. It seems like the carpet has never been changed. Pull out sofa was suppose to be green tropical colors but was so dirty it looked brown. Wallpaper peeling off walls. Kitchen floor tore and dirty. Rust in bathroom. Lights falling down. Sink leaking. Toilet stained. Beds broke down. Dead bugs in windows. I called front desk and asked if they had a cottage that was in better shape because this one needed many repairs. They informed me that all of the cottages were taken. I highly doubt this, since there appears to be about 300 cottages and only about 50 cars in the whole park. I had already paid in full and had drove with a family of six for over 1000 miles so I stayed out of exhaustion. The next day I called the office and asked for two extra pillows and two extra blankets because the pillows were so flat and blankets were so wore. I was given the third degree about why I wanted them. Housekeeping did bring them within about ten minutes. I will NEVER return. I am not a high roller and have stayed in some cheap places but this beats them all.
