“Lambert Family (QC, Canada) Great Place!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

We stayed on lot 520 with our travel trailer (30ft) from April 5-13, 2012 and I have to say that we were pulling onto I-92 Irle Bronson at night to arrive at the grounds and we were a little nervous because you could never imagine that there was a campground tucked away on such a key street in Kissimmee. Only a 10 min walk from our campground to the main strip on Irle Bronson (restaurants, shopping etc.) The grounds seem like they are in the middle of nowhere because it is so peaceful. Great lots and plenty of space to park and move around. Very clean lots, grounds, laundry room, pool, bathrooms (showers) and so forth. WiFi was pretty fast, enough that we could search the weather, emails and buy Disney tickets on line. Water pressure was very strong. Convenient garbage containers through out the park. Service was very good and outdoor maintenance was daily. They made sure everything looked great and clean. Friendly hello's from everyone, staff and renters. Only about 10 min +/- to all Disney attractions if there isnt any traffic ofcourse and about 20 min or so to Universal studios and sea world. So very close. My wife, 6yr old son and I had a great time. We would absolutely stay here again and the price (nearly half of what Disneys wild kingdom costs) is a GREAT deal. I will recommend Tropical Palms Resort to everyone. Just watch for the gators in the man made lake....nice to take pics but keep your distance.

To each its own opinion as you see by the mixed reviews but for us this is a GREAT camp ground. Our opinion 5 star. We agree with some of the reviews. PROS: Great location, out of the traffic noise but centrally located to most popular activities. Clean grounds. Large sites. Good security, safe. Quiet and friendly. CONS: A little pricy, bath houses do need daily attention. NEW: Camp site cement pads are a welcomed new addition to the sites. New this year is the abillity to pre-reserve specific sites. We are not swimmers, but can appreciate other reviewiers comments tha the pool was crowded, but, facillities new and inviting.

Our group of 5 stayed in one of the cabins. The master bedroom, the bunkbeds in another room, and the bed in the loft suited us perfectly. The room was clean, but when we checked in, the linens hadn't been changed from the previous occupant. A call to the office soon corrected that. There were no bugs in our cabin, or even out on the deck. Cooking meals there saved us money, although every chain restaurant in the USA seems to have a spot on the main drag.

The pool was small, but wasn't overcrowded when we were there. The pond has at least one alligator in it, and some people mentioned that there was a second gator, but I didn't see 2.

The location of the campground is the best feature, as it is close to many things, but set off from the main drag.

We liked it.

I find myself puzzled by all the recommendations/reviews in favor of Tropical Palms. It was horrible but it certainly was not all that great. Upon pulling in everything looks really nice. I just found myself to be disappointed at the conditions of the bath houses. Just in general not very convenient for taking a shower and getting ready/dressed. How about some hooks or somewhere to set your belongings down? The bath house clearly had not been cleaned in some time. We stay at a lot of campgrounds and know that they generally get pretty messy quickly but there was just dirt everywhere. I saw the same dirt and crime and streaks all week. The soap dispensers and paper towels were constantly empty and the trash cans were always overflowing. Not impressed.
The pool is the real joke. It is crowded and loudand very small. There are so many people in the pool that I was grossed out. So grossed out that I did not go in once. People were everywhere. Just not an enjoyable pool experience for us! It's too bad because the pool building and cafe are in nice shape just too many people in one small pool.
The cafe at the pool is decent and food and beverage prices are reasonable which is nice.
I couldn't pack up fast enough here.
Overpriced and crowded.
I also didn't the area. Just felt unsafe and uncomfortable. Disappointed because i thought we found a good place.

We stayed here for the last 10 days....have had a great experience. We ate lunch in the cafe several times...food was great and prices were reasonable. The luau was alot of fun. We thought $10 for food and entertainment was a great price...and $2.50 for a draft beer was awesome. The night before we walked up to Old Town at one of the bars and paid $13 for two drinks...with no entertainment. The Wi-Fi is extremely slow.

My family camped at Tropical Palms this past week and won't be returning. The property is nice and the heated pool was the best feature. We love their sister park, Sun N' Fun in Sarasota, and assumed Tropical Palms was managed in a similar style. Unfortunately, we found that the cafe at the pool was never open according to the 11-7 schedule and each day was open 11-4. The slide for the kids, $5 charge, was also only functional 11-4 each day. We stayed here because they offered fun activities each day. Unfortunately, they cancelled most of the scheduled activities that were on their monthly calendar they advertise and our kids were disappointed when the jewelery and tie die events were cancelled. We did buy $10 tickets to the Luau hoping to enjoy the one event they didn't cancel while we were there and were very disappointed. The food was awful and the tables were full. We sat at a separate table so far away that we couldn't see the band or dancers. We were also surprised to find that a $10 ticket didn't include anything to drink. No surprise that the cafe was open that night to sell you something to drink.
This is yet another park that seems to cater to snow birds and forgets about the rest of us. It could be a great park but needs new management. The gift shop area in the front is filthy, shuffleboard courts need to be resurfaced and mini golf course is plagued with ants. There are posted rules like no dogs doing their business on other people's campsites, but that rule isn't enforced. Also a no campfire rule and that's not enforced. We won't stay here again and will raise our concerns to Royalty Resorts.

I stayed here with my family in one of the 2bedroom cottages, I loved it, the pool area is fantastic with the heated pool and all the activities they have poolside, what doesn't seem right to me on this is they charge you 5.00 everytime you want clean towels and to have a maid it is 20.00 to clean your room, isn't that what we are paying for in the first place?? Because of these extra charges I have moved locations.
