This reservation was made for me as a 'gift'...it was an OK hotel, as far as being outside the park is concerned. But that is for another review. For what it was, it was pretty good. Institutional rooms, generic atmosphere and all you would expect from Clarion. If it's cheap, go for it. It isn't a tragedy, but you're not in the park or in a 'Vacation-y' hotel, either. The best part is the giant lake in the front filled with exotic birds (or exotic for those from the north!).

Upon first checking into the hotel, we were given a room that had faulty a/c. Without a flinch, they moved us to a new room. Both rooms were clean upon entry. The microwave in the 2nd room didn't work, but they replaced that within an hour of calling the front desk.
Everything was clean and felt comfortable. We stayed 4 nights and it was all that we expected. A nice room, clean pool, easy parking. The designated smoking area is near the pond out front; the kids loved feeding the large fish that would swim up to the edge.
We were very close to every kind of restaurant you could imagine. Word of advice: the steakhouse next door is convenient, but expensive. Stick with the local buffets to get your money's worth. Buffets are abundant and cheap in the area!!!
Even with the a/c and microwave problems, I rate our stay above average.

The hotel appeared clean and fairly kept... Found a roach crawling on my arm, while in bed. Though disturbed, I was very tired and my wife had already fallen a sleep. The next morning I went to the front desk with the roach that I caught to let them know of the problem and one of the receptionist said "and you brought it here?" like I'm a nut job and having roaches crawling in your bed is a fact of life or something. If sleeping with roaches is a fact of everyday life for you, I'd recommend this place.

Just stayed here, 7/17 to 7/24,, stayed in the largest room, 2 beds with sofa....room was very old, bed and walls and tiny fridge. The pull out sofa was kind of grungylooking, the rugs were so/so, The hallways were kept clean, but the maid service comes very late in the day. The outside of the hotel was nice and entrance way, but watch out when it rains you can kill yourself walking in on the outside tile. Pool area was gross, the baby pool was a joke and had sand all in it, large pool looked green and dirty, very small. The tiki bar was a joke, had no atmosphere. Most front office people were friendly, a few had an attitudes. Not bad for the price if you don't planning on staying there for anything but sleep.
