Having stayed in many US hotel rooms the lakeside is your run of the mill US hotel room.No the lakeside is not a resort but the pools were clean and warm, the rooms clean a bright and for the rates available on the net it is a bargain. We got 4 nights with 2 buffet breakfasts for 2adults for £120 ! If it is a clean safe place to lay your head after a long day in the parks this is it, why go anywhere else?.

The Best Western Lakside was an average 3 star hotel, are stay was Dec.2nd to Dec 9. The rooms were kept clean daily ,the grounds were clean and the pools were great and warm the staff was O.K. I think too many people are complaining about nothing it's not a five star place for the price it was great . Lots of places that you can walk to for breakfast and dinner . Ponderosa 3.99 breakfast sizzlers has a great dinner buffet for 9.99 you don't need the entree. Also Golden Corral has a dinner buffet for 10.99 great food.
Stay away from the Golden China Buffet west of the Best Western Hotel at the Quality Suites not that good.Best Western shuttle sevice is ok but it would be nice to get to the them parks earlier, when it off season they don't run to early . better to the shuttle to the earliest theme park and jump over from that them to the one you want too go to. All and All I would give 6 out of 10

This hotel was very nice. The front desk gave us everything we requested. Also Hurricane Sam's food and specialty drinks were wonderful, adn delicious as well as the waiter- he had a sense of urgency and multi-tasked very well. Room was beautifully decorated, also we had a refrigerator, very close to transportation-- bus was always on time. This is a very clean hotel , walgreen's is open 24 hrs- righ across the parking lot. It was a great experience. Rooms were very quiet, food was great and reasonably priced, Overall very happy with this hotel , and I have stayed at three Disney Hotels prior to this one , and I will stay here again.

We stayed with a large group for a sporting event at Disney, so I did not get to pick the place or the price. I would not recommend this hotel unless you can get a price of $50 or less per night -- otherwise, it is just not worth it. We paid $69 per night, and I felt that was too much. Some of the basic problems -- (1) very, very RUDE and unhelpful staff -- they seemed to go out of their way to be obnoxious; (2) unreliable shuttle to the Disney parks (and, by the way, the times of the shuttle are unrelated to the operating hours of the parks -- the Magic Kingdom closes at 8:00 on Sundays and the shuttle comes at 10:15 -- we had to take a cab, which cost $25); (3) very musty, damp rooms -- a lot of the kids in the group got sick (coughs etc.) and I think it was in part due to the condition of the rooms (although I should point out that the rooms were quite clean otherwise); (4) shady deals at the restaurant (they overcharged my credit card and refused to re-ring the transaction -- I got the feelingy that they probably do this routinely and skim the extra few bucks -- it was not a lot of money (less than $5) but you get the point; I informed the front desk and they could have cared less); (5) very small bathrooms (so small that it was difficult to change clothes inside); (6) very inconvenient "business center" -- it was difficult to print my boarding passes for our return flight; and (7) pretty far from the airport -- a $50 to $60 ride via hired car or taxi (it would probably be worthwhile to rent a car). Some of the positives (there are almost always some!): (1) there was a Walgreens store next door -- very convenient; (2) although there was some shady business at the restaurant (see above), the food was good and reasonably priced; (3) the A/C worked quite well; (4) although we did not use them, there are 3 pools that looked quite nice; and (5) a small but very nice excercise room. So, overall, I would definately NOT stay there again. I have been to plenty of Best Westerns and have had some fine experiences, but not at this one!

My wife and I stayed here on our Honeymoon for 2 nights, after coming from Walt Disney World (WDW), back in June 2006. First off, if you think this is close to WDW,or Seaworld think again. The only reason we stayed here was the quoted rate. If I would have known this hotel was so far away from everything, I would not have stayed here, and paid some more money to stay closer to Orlando. Driving back to this hotel (anywhere from 40mins to 1 1/2 hrs.) from a day of sightseeing, is not fun. The hotel is in need of serious updating, along with the rooms. The bathroom of our room was the worse. The tiles had some black grout lines and the shower curtain had dry soap residue on it. When we arrived, we were checked in earlier than our scheduled check-in time.
The door handle of our room almost fell off, but a quick phone call to the front desk, there was someone there in a flash.
We stayed on the second floor, so unless you like climbing stairs avoid the second floor. The pool area was nice, and clean.
The hotel has an internet connection you can pay a fee to use. Overall for the price I paid, and how far I had to travel to sightsee and to find a place to eat, stay somewhere else.
