“Nice budget getaway to Orlando's attractions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013 via mobile

This place can be booked at a bargain (check tripadvisors lowest rates) It is an okay place, mainly visited by American tourists heading for the theme parks. The Pools are OK but a bit cold. Be careful with young kids as the slides end in deep water. Luckily there are lifeguards continuously on top of it. Apart from the pools there ain't much to do except trying to spot some raccoons going through the trash (something appealing to us europeans) The first room we had had a filthy, smelly sleep sofa and the blankets that we found in a closet were dirty. When we returned after our trip to Miami we got a slightly better room on the ground floor with a cleaner sleeping sofa and an open door to the "jungle" in the back. Sally's bar is nothing special and offers the typical American junkfood. There are some activities like midget golf and water paddling. We saw people fishing the tortoises, actually lifting them up with a hook which looked like animal abuse to us. However when we informed the staff they were totally fine with that ("we just don't recommend to eat them because of the algees")
It has been said a lot - they will bother you with timesharing presentations, offering you cash and free vacations. They don't hesitate to bother you after you've arrived from a 13 hour trip, phone you in your room and leave voice mails. Just be firm and tell them no. That said, it is a great getaway to all the Orlando attractions. Tip:get your Disney tickets from the "cheap tickets" stalls along the roads. While shady at first it actually works (they sell tickets that were already used that day) and in our case it saved US $75.

We stayed at Liki Tiki for 12 nights travelling with Travel City Direct from UK. Usually stay on IDrive but wanted a condo apartment so we could cook some meals. Stayed in block 1300 on 3rd floor, had end room so no traffic past the bedroom , seen roach in room and called front desk who quickly came and removed it. Only seen one, also did have smoke alarm go off at 1am, again called front desk and security looked at alarm but could not be fixed till morning so did go off at 5am too. Location far end of 192, and took 30mins to universal parks but easy to get around. Would stay here again, like a home from home! Used pool at night which was lovely, did go lagoon but it was a bit cold for us. Would travel to Liki Tiki again!

What an amazing place to stay, we booked through thomsons. Our room was on the 5th floor overlooking the quiet pool that stayed opened until midnight.when we checked in I asked for a newly renovated room, which we got, we had a 2 bedroomed apartment which was a kingsize bed, flat screen telly, shower and jetted bath with carpet. the other room had 2 double beds with flat screen telly, shower and bath and carpeted. the kitchen and living room had tiled floor, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you will need for your stay. the living room has a comfy couch and a flat screen telly, then you have the unscreened balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the pool. we didn't have maid service throughout the 14 days but you didn't really need to as you had everything you needed to clean it up as you went along, you had a washing machine and a dryer, so if you wanted fresh towels wash them yourselves. there was even fresh sheets and blankets in the cupboard where the safe was if you wanted fresh bedding. They provided us our own pool towels which you were responsible for, if 1 went missing you would have to pay 10 dollars. We washed them ourselves also.We went to the time share meeting as we were offered a good deal on money off park tickets once we declined first time!!! (good tip) We had a fantastic gentleman called carlos what a lovely man. We didn't see one bug in our apartment for the whole duration of the holiday! There was nothing here that you could fault. We are coming back liki tiki!!! but this time the whole family are coming too!! Thanks for an amazing time liki tiki we cant wait to come back.xxxx

Just stayed at Liki Tiki for 10 days. The condo itself (we had a one bed 4th floor condo) was huge, 600sq ft, which was more than enough for the two of us! Condo itself was great, very clean, tidy, well stocked kitchen (we didn't actually cook, just did breakfast there), huge bed and a big balcony with very good air con - a necessity! Plus, the whirlpool bath was an added bonus, much needed after days at the theme parks. The choice of pools was great (kids pool, but two other decent pools that were a bit quieter), there were always sunloungers available too. It was fairly quiet, just off the main road too but pretty quick drive to all the theme parks if you're visiting them.
What let it down for us was a problem with the loo in our condo (we had maintenance in 3 times!) They were very nice but they didn't manage to fix the issue (it wouldn't flush sometimes or would fill constantly for hours making loads of noise) so we weren't very impressed.
Also, they say they have a 'restaurant' on site, but it is really just a pool bar. Food is good quality but fairly basic so we were a little disappointed that it did not live up to expectations. It also closes at 9pm on weekdays (and 10pm on Fri and Sat) and closes totally in poor weather (with no warning) so it is not a reliable option if you want a nice dinner without having to drive anywhere. We ended up driving somewhere every night/getting a taxi.
Finally, we were surprised that we were not eligible for the condo to be cleaned (you get a clean after 7 days but only if you are staying 14 nights, as we were there 10 we did not get this). So no change of sheets, no clean towels, no cleaning of bathroom/kitchen. It was very clean when we arrived but we do think one clean/change of sheets and towels should be provided half way through a 10 day stay.
So overall, a nice place for a good price and worth considering.

It had been years since we went on a vacation, so I wanted a great place to stay and make memories. Not only was the condo super clean (which helps when you have family with bad allergies), but the staff was so nice and thoughtful. Ariel, the supervisor ensured that my husbands birthday and our anniversary did not go unnoticed! Jolene helped with making sure we got the best condo for our needs. Thank you for a clean, kind stay! We look forward to visiting again, and enjoying the people and wonderful amenities! Highly recommend this place!

We booked a 2 week stay in September but ended up spending only 7 nights as we travelled around quite a lot. We were primarily using it as our 'base' so it really did not need to be anything other than 'adequate' for our needs. I feel a bit mean giving it just a three star but I don't mean it as a negative. Its a perfectly fine, perfectly adequate place to lay your head (you spend very little time at the hotel if you're visiting Florida to travel and to do the parks).

We had a 3rd floor single bedroom condo in block 1200. It was more than big enough for us. The kitchen facilities were good (looked like they'd never been used), the bathroom large and the washer/drying facilities great if you choose to have no maid service. Bed was relatively comfortable but the room got very hot at night and I did not like the fact that the bedroom window faced the landing. Despite having blinds you could not leave them open during the day time as everyone could see straight in! You had to keep them closed and it made the room very dark. (Note: Not every apartment was like this. Some of them had kitchen windows that face the landings not bedroom).

The condo décor is dated but not offensive but the sofa bed in the lounge was incredibly uncomfortable to sit on (so I don't know what it would be like to sleep on). Bathroom nice and big - good shower, loads of towels. Two big screen telly's with a good selection of channels (ok - you don't go away to watch telly! But sometimes you're so knackered after being out at the Parks all day you just want to veg out in front of the telly with a pizza!)

The big big minus for me was the adjoining door into the next apartment (used for family stays). There appears to be no attempt at sound proofing. It felt like there was only one door between the rooms and not the customary two with a gap. (If it is two then I'd be incredibly surprised). Put it this way, the family argument from the next room got so bad one day (upsetting) I complained to reception then another day we were privy to an incredibly personal argument that I wish I had not shared! Coupled with the screaming baby moments it is a bit annoying. I have no idea if all the rooms are like this but it may well be worth asking if you are booking a one bedroomed apt.

Plus points : helpful staff, nice resort layout, good pool with brilliant professional lifeguards, super security staff - really helpful, pleasant, happy! Good on site pool bar with reasonable food (v reasonable - a 16" pizza to take to your room $11.95; great club sandwich with fries $8.95 - super onion rings). The bar shuts at 9pm though so it doesn't sort of have much atmosphere - but its better than nothing for those with young families.

We thought the location was good. Its really quite easy to find (just listen to your sat nav carefully) and I liked they way its set back off the road. The restaurants and facilities in the immediate vicinity are great and the distance from the Parks didn't bother us. There's a Publix about 5 mins away and Walmart about 10 mins away so you can stock up.

The free wifi is non-existent although there is a business/internet lounge in reception that you can use free of charge. My husband even struggled to get a signal on his mobile! We took our ipad - mainly to plan our driving trips and to check out local information but it worked only the once.

If Liki Tiki popped up on a reasonably priced package deal again we'd probably go back at some point - if you're looking for atmosphere and real proximity to the Parks then maybe consider a Disney Hotel instead.
