“Liki Tiki -Our young family gives it 2 thumbs up! LISTof what to expect your condo to have:”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

Read on if you would like to know what to expect of your condo. We stayed in the 700 building, which had been recently renovated, in a 2 bedroom condo. The condo itself is a bit dated in the kitchen with the cabinetry and florescent lighting, but it felt really ended up feeling like home. The carpet, like people have mentioned was looking a bit dirty, but I didn't mind to much for the price. Everything else was pretty clean including the beds which had nice clean sheets and were very comfortable. The air conditioning worked wonderfully, especially for a week that was hitting 90 degrees!
The kitchen was equipped with the basics and we were able to do all we wanted with what was there -Full refrigerator, freezer with ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, a few pots and sauce pans, a block knife set on the counter -with steak knives and other knives. A coffee maker with 1 coffee packet -if you are a coffee drinker you will need to bring coffee and filters. A blender, a 4 slot toaster, a cutting board and a few basic serving and cooking utensils -the basics, but all we needed.
Included in our room was a couple rolls of toilet paper (one set for each bath), hand bar soap, body soap, shampoo and conditioner, towels, wash clothes, hand towels, POOL towels (if you loose these you have to pay for a replacement), liquid dish soap and new scrub sponge, 1 (or 2) dishwasher detergent packs, 2 laundry soap packs. I would recommend taking a small amount of dishwasher detergent (or tabs) if you plan to eat in some, it's nice to run the dishwasher and not worry about running out. I also bought laundry detergent and some fabric softener sheets. They also had a few trash bags so you could empty the trash every couple days.
Yes the pool hours are limited from 10am to dusk, but there are plenty of other things to do like mini golf, shuffleboard, ride the 2 or 4 person bikes, tennis, basketball, and they have a small playground for the kids. The reason for the "lagoon" or waterpark to close at dusk is for safety of the kids swimming.
We ate a Shipwreck Sally's after hearing about the all you can eat fish fry on Friday nights. It was a great meal to have for our last night. The food was good.
Although we were right near the basketball and tennis courts, I never had trouble sleeping. Things always seemed to quiet down around 10pm every night and even though we were right next to a family we could only hear them during the day (through the adjoining rooms).
We did have a large grasshopper-type bug that we caught and put outside along with a little lizzard that got in! :) But, we just made sure not to leave the doors open and keep the lights off when you are entering at night. It's Florida, there ARE bugs people!
They have a small vacuum and broom with dustpan. That was nice to have to help clean up after eating (kids).
We had a couple small problems (one, our vacuum wasn't working properly) and we simply called the number listed near the phone and almost immediately someone was knocking at our door to help us out (replacement vacuum). So, if you have any problems, just call. They want to make sure you are happy.
The only complaint is that the internet was extremely slow -but luckily, my husband was there on vacation and really didn't need to do business. :)

Room Tip: If you have a family with young kids, I would ask for a room near the lagoon (waterpark). Not only i...

We traveled 17 hours by car from up north and arrived at 830am. Which is significantly prior to stated check in, however our check in person had us wait 15 minutes and she found us an available 2bd 2bath condo, which we reserved online via their spring special rate. We stayed in104a, which is a two story villa pool front with kitchen and laundry. The property is peaceful and secluded. The landscape is very photo worthy. We ate on the screened in porch and had an upper and lower balcony. There are plenty of activities, we had smoothies at shipwreck Sally's and did the paddle boats, we weren't pressure about a time share. We were close to shopping and the parks. One of the pools was outside our door . Security was tight. The watermark is nice. The dj adds a nice touch. The gas grills is also and the Internet room are also nice touches. It is easy to find an employee and they are helpful. Breakfast on the balcony was great.

The cons: the bathroom and kitchen tile floors are very slippery when wet. The wifi is slow and sometimes nonexistent, except late at night or early in the day. a better mattress needed on the sofabed.

Room Tip: Get the two story villas

Had a pleasant stay at this family friendly resort close to Disneyworld - must say that the service was extremely good (very attentive, helpful, courteous, etc), and the kids' amenities were very good (including the mini-golf, playground, restaurant, kids' activities, and most of all the MASSIVE waterpark) - also would say that the rooms are a bit dated. Overall a good stay.

We were very apprehensive to return to Liki Tiki Village after a disastrous event that occurred 11 years a go at this location. We related our concern upon check-in and the person at the front desk named Jesaida listened and took action to mitigate our consternation. The supervisor of security (Angel Nieces)) met us and assured us this was a much different place today than we experienced in 2001. By the end of the third day we were convinced that was the case. We felt very comfortable and at ease.

We were in one of the older town homes. The entire unit had been refurbished recently, all newer appliances, carpet, fresh paint and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. We found absolutely no bugs or insects in or even around our unit. Soundproofing must have been added as a family with toddlers was next to us and we never heard them through the walls. Now these older units can never come up to the luxury of the high rise buildings, but we enjoy the town home units more for the more relaxed atmosphere. All of the gas grills were very clean each time we used them. With at least 6 gas grills and even more charcoal grills available, we never had to wait for one. The on site restaurant, Ship Wreck Sally's, offered very good sandwiches at a price that would not break the bank, albeit more expensive than off site but nevertheless a reasonable price for the size of their offerings. A down side was the mandatory fee ($59.00?) or so for the use of amenities. This was a charge per unit. It did include all usage of resort amenities, including the on site water park, bikes, paddle boats, local phone calls and a somewhat high speed Internet. All in all, not a bad deal since it would include everyone in your party.

Liki Tiki is best suited when you have younger kids. The water park is great for pre- teens but I would suppose the older teens would get bored very fast. The game room is very nominal. Adults can immerse them selves in the other two pool ares. They have signs up that the hot tubs not for the kids, but that was not enforced. Many times they were filled with pre-teens. Our biggest disappointment that we could not even get close to the hot tubs on many days.

Overall, we were made to feel very welcomed and the staff was eager to please. Jesaaida and Angel both went over the top to alleviate our concerns, and it is not often that you can point out any one individual that has really made your trip enjoyable. On this one, two persons stick out and Liki Tiki should be proud of Jesaida and Angel.

Room Tip: 100-300 are the older town homes that will give more of a relaxing quiet time. 400 and up are the h...

Worst 9 days ever!
Main pool does not open until 10am and closes at 7pm!
Bar is only open until 9pm.
Hot tubs were luke warm most days.
Very few planned activities for kids.
Property is getting run down and needs updating.
Gift shop/store is small and sells cheap stuff- when its open- many times it was closed in the middle of the day!
No way to stay after checkout and shower. We had a late flight and was not allowed to have a late checkout even though none of the rooms on our floor had been cleaned yet!
Main lifeguard lady (dyed blonde hair) enjoys yelling at the kids in the pool!
Having come to Orlando every year for the past 15 - this was clearly our worst experience!
SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE AND
ENJOY YOUR TRIP.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

Dear "SecurityDad":

Our goal here at Liki Tiki Village is to ensure that each and every guest and owner has a positive vacation experience. Your concerns have been addressed and our Leadership Team is taking corrective measures.

It disappoints us to learn our resort left your family with a less than positive experience. We sincerely apologize and are confident that if you decide to return, you’re vacation would certainly meet, if not exceed, all your expectations! Thank you for your review and hope we see you again soon.

For the purpose of full disclosure, we are owners of a Liki Tiki timeshare unit. We had not returned to our "home" resort since a very unfortunate incident that occurred in 2001. Upon check-in this year, we voiced our concern over that problem and the associate Jesaida listened intently and alerted the office about our previous problem. The security supervisor, Angel, met with us and assured us that security has changed dramatically in the past ten years. That turned out to be an understatement as we never felt more secure than we did at Liki Tiki.

Upon arrival we saw that our unit, an older townhouse, had been completely refurbished and was immaculate. Didn't even see a fly or an ant during the entire two weeks we were there! The bed was the most comfortable one we have slept in and there was never any noise to wake us. All of the furnishings in the unit were clean and comfortable and relatively new.

We used the pool a couple of times and found it to be warm and clean. All the gas grills were spotless as were the charcoal grills. The on site restaurant/bar, Ship Wreck Sally's, served good sandwiches at reasonable prices. The service was great.

We were very satisfied with this stay and will return. Couldn't ask for nicer people!!!

tayed at this hotel with two friends and the kids 3 adults 6 kids 2 bedroom room nothing special but was clean and served its purpose. Fitting us all in. The beds were ok the hotel was off the beaten path a little to far out for my liking but the pool and outdoor amenities were great. the kids had a blast at the pool the outdoor bar restaurant was fun decent food great drinks one night they had a dj and karoke we had so much fun singing and dancing. We had a great three days made up for the average rooms usually like staying at a more upscale hotel but was great for the kids.

Room Tip: ask to stay near main pool
