We had stayed here years ago while my husband was on a business trip and taking a class. Several years later we went back for the same reason. My two youngest children were here this time, ages 10 and 13. The renovations are looking great! Right away, both of my children recognized the beautiful outdoors by the parking lot! They loved the ducks and fish and the way the "bridge-walkway" lead us to the building with our room. The rooms were clean, the view was terrific ,over looking the pool with very cheerful and bright landscaping, The week we were there happened to be when it rained and had terrible storms the entire week! We knew this was going to happen, but my husband really wanted us to come with him. A tropical storm was coming through. It does not happen often in Orlando, i should know I lived there for awhile, and grew up in Florida.i was nervous about going out in the tornado warnings, and how to keep the kids busy all week long!! I did not have to worry at all! Anytime there was a break in the weather, the wonderful lifeguard/children's activities director announced bingo or pool games, and many other fun activities! she was always busy watching the kids on the fun pool slide,or asking kids if they wanted to use fun water toys she had etc... She truly cared about the children, and wanted them to have a good time!! The hotel puts out a daily schedule for kids, complete with evening pool movie.Sandra was so very kind to the children, she made them feel special., Miriam at the pool bar.not only helped keep the kids happy with frozen kids drinks, and took the coupons they left in the room, I was going to order a pizza, and Miriam also insisted share her pizza with us when my daughter and I were by ourselves for a few hours. Miriam told me to save the coupons for when the rest of my kids got back with my husband .. How terrific is that!! The resort has super fun extra large life size chess pieces for the kids and adults to play with right by the heated pool and bar. There is a fun basketball game out there also. I saw lots of families enjoy the game room, too. The jacuzzi's are very large and close to both pools so you can still keep an eye on your kids while you relax and feel like you are in a very expensive resort!! I have never seen such a hands on General manage, like Mr.Ron Petroski. He was out by the pools, fun pool bar and all around. He would just chat and ask if there was anything he could do for you to improve your stay.. He would buy drinks for guests and make certain anyone he came in contact with was having a good time! His assistant Justin surprised us with many kind things that Mr.Ron okayed! One of the best was a coupon for a free pizza. This is a huge deal when you are on a budget with hungry kids!! Anytime Justin saw us outside, Justin stopped to say hello, even if it meant getting his 3 piece dress suit wet by leaning on the pool!!Lastly, Ms. Pauline Carrington, a supervisor of the support staff, became a
wonderful friend within that week. She brought my daughter a beautiful fairy bank that was brand new. she gave my son and I some wonderful natural soaps beautifully wrapped!(my daughter had told her about my various illnessess, and my youngest daughters extreme allergies) My daughter is using that beautiful bank to collect as much change as possible, take it out,and start again.she wishes to have as many kids as possible donate their piggy/princess banks money and donate it to the children in Oklahoma! She is paying it forward!! I just can not say enough positive words to describe how everyone treats guests like we are all special! a very rare thing to happen these days even in a high price resort.Yet, Mr.Ron is trying to keep prices as affordable as possible during these trying economic times, while providing a wonderful experience for guests!! Thank you to everyone, Even the very busy front desk operator was very sweet!
