Well, where should I even begin! I don't normally write reviews, however, our experience requires it I think!
We arrived at the hotel for a 2 week stay. The guy, David, who was running the desk was clueless as to how to run the place. He informed us it was not his normal job..and he was new. Pretty much everyone there..was new! we had some issues with the payment as we had been required 4 months before to prepay for the whole room to get the special room rate. We arrived thinking it had been prepaid with the card we had used as the website that gave us the receipt had stated. David said he was not sure but he would look into it and if anything else was needed, he would let us know. So, the next morning we went to the parks making sure to have our phones with us! When we heard nothing, we assumed all was okay. In fact it was not! When we arrived back at our room at 11 that night, we were locked out of our room. We had three very tired kids and no way of getting into our room. When I tried to explain that we had paid already and the paper was in the room, I was informed that we would have to pay again in order to get into the room and retrieve our "proof". I demanded to speak with the manager who's only answer was, "I am new here, You will need to pay to get into your room, I'll be in tomorrow afternoon to get this fixed." Once we paid to get back into our room, we found out David had left us a message..on the room phone.. the one he then locked us out of!
Pay special attention to the fact that this hotel only AUTHORIZES everything, even if you are prepaying.. they will not bill your card until after you check out. Also, they charge a buck a day for the safe even if you don't use it. The beds are rock hard and the pull our sofa was a joke.
That was just the first problem. We were in our room a whole week and had to complain before our maid actually cleaned our room. She would change out the towels and throw the blankets back on the bed, but never cleaned the kitchen area of our suit or either bathroom. She had never vacuumed the room. When I complained, she finally cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed in the middle of our stay, that was the only time until we checked out.
Our unit (150) was a "suit" with "kitchen" it had a toaster, coffee pot, fridge, and microwave. 3 spoons, 2 forks, 8 knives, 2 cereal bowls, a couple of plates and 1 large plastic "mixing bowl" no cups at all. The faucets in the room are all backwards.. hot is really cold. Only 3 outlets worked and in fact the master room had a power strip bar for power.
The breakfast is bread for toast, frosted flakes, stale muffins, fruit filled pastry things, orange slices and halved bananas. Oh, and some coffee. So, fine if you are going to stay one or two nights, but not enough if your stay is longer than that.
The game room has a pin ball machine and one other game and is in the very hot laundry room. It has 3 washers and 3 dryers that worked well enough, 2 bucks to wash, and another 2 bucks to dry.
The transportation is a mess. The bus is supposed to come at 740 am.. it was never there on time and once was over 20 min late. It only takes you to Epcot so you have to change over to the monorail there for Magic Kingdom, then another monorail at the transportation center. It took us one hour and 20 min to get to the park... its about 8 miles away! It stops at about 10 hotels so the bus is crammed with people. If you go to other parks, you have to get on a Disney bus from Epcot and transfer. At night it only comes back at 1015. It is too early for you to be able to stay and watch fire works and make it to the bus. (Also, if you want to leave in the middle of the day, you are stuck.. it only picks up once a day.) It too was late by about 10 min, but it stops at Epcot and Magic Kingdom, so again...very full. The drivers are also not safe.. pulling out into traffic at times with out looking and running lights. We played that game a couple of times then decided it was just easier to pay the parking and drive ourselves.
All in all, it was an average hotel as far as size and location. The girl Tracy in the front was nice enough, David and the Manager are rude and unprofessional. There a million hotels in this area that offer similar pricing that have to be ran better than this place was!
go to a different hotel!
