My husband and 2 kids went to Orlando to visit disney world and chose The Howard Johnson at 4311 West Highway 192, Kissimmee, FL 34746 . We arrived by plane and immediately called the hotel for directions. The desk clerk gave me incorrect directions to their hotel on 192. We were lost for about 3 hrs.. When we kept calling the hotel to get directions the Desk Clerk responded as if we were annoying her. When we finally got there and I explained her misguided directions. She turned her nose up and never apologized. She was very cold hearted. She then gave us a room in a building set way back away from the parking lot. We would have had to carry our luggage behind the main building and behind the pool that was being painted by the way. The paint was so strong it was unbearable. Then mind you after that she charged me a resort fee! What Resort? She had no regard for the childrens health the paint was so strong I requested a room in the main building and she acted like there was no other rms other than a rm where it seemed like something had been buried under it because the floor was hollow under it as it cracked and squeeked when we walked into the room. She reluctantly gave me that room, with a very bad attitude. On top of that I had already pd 47.00 thru cheap tickets and she charged me an additional $10.00 to be in the main building. The sign flashed outside 34.99. When I asked her about that she responded you didnt pay me $47.00 and charged me an extra 10.00 any way. My husbands socks got really dirty when he walked around the room with them although it did not appear to be dirty because the air freshener was so strong. We ended up checking out the next morning with urgency.

I booked a room here as a layover for 1 day through Orbitz. I never got out of the parking lot. I had my family with me, but I would not have stayed here alone. It was disgusting, the doors were not all painted, there were mattresses thrown out in the rear of the property, rusted dishwashers sitting on property, unpainted marred doors, garbage throughout. Just a nasty place. Even at $42 bucks a nite it is overrated. I ate the prepaid money for the room. I will contact Cendant to have this hotel delisted and the rating removed if it has not been already. With all the value hotels in this area, save your money. If you need a place to lay your head before and after a day in Di$ney find somewhere else, like the gas station, at $3 bucks a gallon it cost more than this place.

My experience was so disgusting that all that I can say is that I will never stay at any Howard Johnson again! Look at the picture and see for yourself!
