Fair for the price. Good points: GREAT Beds, good location.
Bad points: Lots of time-share activity in the lobby. Hot tub was not hot. Prefer the HAMPTON INNS we've stayed in while in Orlando m ore. Will return to the Hampton in at this price range, not this property.

“Good overall experience!!!”

When we arrived they stuck us in a nasty smoking room and wouldn't move us- they claimed that ALL of their rooms were booked (even though I'd made the reservations in Feb for a non-smoking rm). Everything smelled awful, the floor was FILTHY and the beds were like boards. It was on the first floor and there were about a hundred teenagers running around screaming and being rude, and we have 2 small children. So we weren't off to a great start.

Finally my husband complained again at 3 in the AM to a different person at the front desk who was very apologetic and he kindly moved us to a very nice non-smoking room on the 3rd floor. This room was much cleaner and the beds were a dream (even had remotes to the beds) with big, fluffy feather pillows. We stayed 5 nights total.

The hotel is within walking distance of IHOP, McDonald's, several gift shops, and a grocery store (if you don't mind crossing a busy street). They have a little gift store, a nice pool (which was open quite late), and a place where you can get a hot dog, fries, salad, pizza, etc. I had no problem using the internet in the "business center" - there are 2 computers in there, although as a female I felt a little unsafe because the room locks from the outside and it's in a remote location in the hotel. I saw some complaints on here about the AC not working or making annoying sounds but we had no problem with that. The shower was excellent- great water pressure! The maid service was pretty good. You can get AVIS and Disney tickets in the lobby. Overall, it was a nice place to stay after the initial problem of being put in a very dirty room. (If you are a smoker, don't expect a comfortable bed or a clean room). Very short drive to Disney and especally Animal Kingdom- just take a right going out of the parking lot and a right at the end of that street (Sherberth Lane) and you're practically there.

We just returned from a nice weekend at the Radisson Worldgate. These people that make these negative posts are crazy. All of the staff we encountered were wonderful, friendly and very helpful. I did manage to get on a wrong elevator and came across a section that was being renovated. It was pretty messy but from what I could tell, there were no guests staying in that section. If you ask me, it’s good to see places renovating because if they weren’t, there would be a lot more negative posts on here complaining about how dated everything looked.

We will be going back to the Orlando area in a couple months and we plan on booking at the Radisson again.

I will start off by saying that, though our stay was negative, the Radisson has compensated my husband and me by sending complimentary gift certificates for 3 nights. We had multiple issues during our stay. Cleanliness-shower floor had ground-in dirt you could remove with your fingernail. Bed sheets did not extend to the end of the bed, so one's feet rested directly on the bedpad. Luckily we had 2 double beds and only needed 1 (why not queen in this day and age?), so I took off the top sheet of one bed and used it to cover the bottom half of the mattress on the other bed. This was only done after receiving no response from our request to the front desk for properly fitted sheets. Towels were replenished incompletely. Toilet paper barely lasted for our 3 nights. No extra rolls were provided in room. The noise between rooms was horrendously loud, sounded like the people next to us were in our room. I did like the furniture, but not the bedding. There was a fridg, but we didn't use it because it was so loud. We unplugged it for our stay. The drapes did not reach the bottom of the windowsill or all the way to the sides, so light shined right on our faces all night. We could find no way to block it even with towels etc. The safe was closed when we checked in and we waited several hours for maintenance to get it open so we could use it. Stood in the hallway next to the fitness room waiting for someone to unlock it for 30 minutes. Staff was preoccupied with selling timeshares or something. Lots of people and activity and tons of noise in the too bright, poorly decorated lobby. Staff in our experience did not seem friendly at all. They seemed busy and preoccupied. Long walk into building from parking lot. Grounds very attractive with fountain and all. We had a wonderful first impression when we saw it. Too bad the rest of our stay did not live up to that initial impression.

“Good hotel for the money.”

Radisson Resort Worldgate

We stayed at the worldgate from March 11th to the 17th. This was a budget trip down to Orlando for us and I paid 57 dollars per night for the hotel on hotwire.

After reading the mixed reviews, I called and upgraded to the sleep number bed room, hoping this would ensure a better room. I was NERVOUS driving up to the hotel because of all the mixed reviews.

When I opened the door to the room (429) I was pleasantly surprised. It was just fine. It sure wasn't a Disney hotel, but that was why we stayed there; it was a lot cheaper. THe carpet had some stains that didn't bother me too much and the bathtub was a bit cracked; I wouldn't have had a bath in it I don't think. BUt it was fine for a shower.

THe beds were clean and everything else seemed fine. THe fridge was in the cupboard in such a way t hat it was hard to open, but I moved it and that was fine too. Looking behind that vanity, it wasn't too clean.

Our room looked out over the roof of another part of the hotel, and a wall. Not a great view, but I didn't spend much time in the hotel anyways.

The pool was WARM and nice. OUr 4 year old son loved it. It was amazing to jump into after the 24 hour drive to get there. THere was live music at the pool which was LOUD and I thought they made some rather off-colour comments considering all the children present. It was an "Internationally booked" band. I think they must have played in Cancun one time or something. THey were okay but a bit annoying to me personally.

THere was a buffet by the pool that looked alright for 15 dollars including 2 drinks. THat's a good deal if you're drinking but we weren't so we went to the Golden Corral down the street. (Avoid the Ponderolsa across the road.)

The rooms were well cleaned each day and housekeeping staff was friendly.

The first night we were there, someone was trying to get into our room at about 10:30...they had assigned our room to someone else after giving it to us! Other than that, people were pretty friendly and service was good.

The business centre printer didn't ever seem to be working. I didn't need to use it myself but I watched several very frustrated people try to print out their boarding passes and leave the room upset. Other than that, it was fine for checking my email.

Overall, for the money we paid, it was a fine pleace. We spent a lot of time by the pool and it was a nice atmosphere. Housekeeping was good. We called for more towels one day and had them within 10 minutes.
