We went there for our 40th anniversary and had a good time.
True this Hotel is 30 years old but the people and the staff did all they could to make sure that it was a great get away for us.
We liked the location and all it has to offer close by.

My wife and I checked in and from the get go things went downhill. The room had a mildew smell and this was a nonsmoking room. The A/C was not working but we blamed that on the heat at first. We left to Old Town and came back later to discover the room was actually more heated now with the blinds CLOSED!!!! The front desk blamed this on the "Humidity". We changed room to a smoking room and instantly felt better. It smelled better and the A/C was cooler than a polar bears toenail. I would not recommend this dump or be staying in any other dumps operated by this operating company
I never expected a 5 star hotel at this price. My x did quality assurance audits for hotels at all levels, from budget properties to Ritz and Four Seasons level. I accompanied him on many trips and helped as a secret shopper on many occasions. So I feel like I have pretty reasonable expectations. For around 40 bucks, I expected nothing more than a clean, safe place for my son and I to rest our heads.
Ya, not so much. The entire property is in a SERIOUS state of disrepair. Walkways and walls, ceilings, etc. show signs if long-term and serious water damage. Our room, for the most part was clean. (bedding, bath, carpets. etc.) But here too were signs of major water damage, musty odor, etc.
Unfortunately, there were many events going on in the area last weekend, and after spending about an hour looking for another room, we decided that since the bed and bath were clean, we could stick it out for the night.
The pool was clean and in good repair, so we spent most of the evening there. I took my 10 yea old upstairs at around 6 to watch some tv and settle in. They do not even have the most basic of cable! 3 network stations, Univision and a couple of tourist info channels. There is HBO- fine for me, but not much kid appropriate on a Saturday night. No problem, just get pay per-view, right? 14.99 a movie! For PG people- not porno! Even most high end properties rarely charge more than 7-9 dollars a movie.
Front desk clerk was not rude, but was far from helpful either. She failed to tell us that the only working ice machine on the property was in the restaurant. A secret that she failed to share with many other guests as well. We were not alone in our search.
Forget the breakfast buffet. The restaurant was so filthy that we did not even stay long enough to take a look at the food.
There are more than a few properties in the general vicinity in the same price range or slightly higher that, although they are a little older, are clean, convenient and in good repair. Do your homework, or if you are booking last minute like we did, consider spending a little more or opting for a hotel a little farther away from the theme parks.
NASTY, NASTY, NASTY. Sheets had a "sticky" feeling! Toilet did not flush! Outdoor walkway flooring was rotted. Hotel is in horrible state of disrepair. CHECKED OUT AFTER SIX HOURS
I went to this hotel a few years ago. Experience overall it was ok. Need some improvements by replacing the carpet. Price was ok; I paid lower prices in other places in Fl, including full kitchen. The only problem was the keys, it was so humid that we needed to change often, but overall, it was a nice stay. Staff was ok.
