We got this hotel in a great deal booked for in the off-season through Expedia, which included round-trip airfare and a car rental. We liked the hotel so much, we've since tried to secure it at a similar price and haven't been able to. But we'd still recommend staying here.
This hotel is very modern, clean and inviting for the price.
Our room was quite large. Our's had two queen-sized beds. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the linens were clean, warm and fluffy.
The room also had a desk and some storage for clothing, etc. There was a mini-fridge and a microwave, which we weren't expecting but was great to have in our room.
The bathroom was also quite large and always well cleaned by the cleaning staff.
There was a large TV in the room too. The channel choice seemed average but we were rarely in the room long enough to use the TV or care.
You are able to control your own AC unit. We found it a little loud sometimes when trying to sleep but it did keep the room at a nice temperature.
There was high-speed WiFi, which we didn't have any problems accessing during our trip and was also great to have available for our day planning.
A real highlight of this hotel is their breakfast buffet. It had a large variety of choice and went well beyond a continental breakfast that you see at most of the hotels that seem to just contain bite-sized and sugary, processed muffins and pastries.
This hotel had a variety of protein options - including eggs (scrambled, hardboiled and omelettes) and a meat (usually bacon, ham or sausage). It also had bread, english muffins, bagels, etc.
There was cream cheese, a variety of cereals (including oatmeal) and several kinds of fruit and even yogurt set out in the morning. They weren't stingy about if you wanted to take a yogurt or some fruit or whatever with you for a snack during the day.
There was juices, coffee/tea and milk as well. As long as the usual muffins and pastries - but basically full-sized versions.
The breakfast was a pleasant surprise and a great help to be able to have a meal that wasn't just sugar to fill you up and give you a boost for when heading out for the day.
The seating area for the breakfast was also quite large and although it was busy, we didn't have trouble finding a spot to sit.
The property itself is lovely with plenty of parking, all which seemed to be near doors. We never had trouble finding a spot.
Be careful arriving the first time, as you might miss the turn onto Calypso Cay.
There is a WalMart just around the corner for if you need to pick up any snacks, toiletries or other supplies. It was a great connivence.
You're also very close to a ramp onto the highway, for if you will be spending much of your holiday going out to the coast, which is what we tend to do.
However, you're also only a short drive from Disney and Downtown Disney - only about 10 minutes. Gatorland was nearby as well.
There were several restaurants not far off, including an Olive Garden, and numerous souvenir shops.
We were really pleased with this hotel's location and the hotel itself. We wouldn't think twice about staying here again if we could get a good deal. We'd also readily consider another hotel in this same area because it was so convenient. It's off the main beaten track enough that it's quiet but close enough that you are able to get to everything in a snap.
