Wow! We were in a fantastic 3 bed condo that was immaculate and enormous. To start from the beginning, the resort is located off the 192 Irlo Bronsen Highway, right at the western end, just before you get to the 27. There's a big sign before the junction telling you it's next left at the lights. Half a mile down the side road and you find the main gate on the right. Unfortunately the road hasn't made it into satnav/gps yet, and the flag on the Tripadvisor Google Maps is way out, so just keep going west on the 192 - if you get to the 27 you've gone too far.
Reception is in the resort club building, and the staff could not have been more helpful. They'll sort out any small problems, give advice on nearby shops and chat about the attractions. On to the condo - parking right outside the block, and a lift to all floors. Our three bed condo was vast! Serious danger of losing people inside. The condo was immaculately clean, housekeeping obviously having taken great care on presentation, so first impressions were good, just what you need after a long journey. The condo was very well equipped, ice making fridge, TVs in each bedroom and the lounge, more towels than we knew what to do with, and free internet access via an ethernet cable in the lounge (so only one laptop on line at a time - but you're meant to be on vacation, not in the office!), and a small welcome pack.
Resort facilities include an infinity pool - I thought it looked a bit small on Google Earth for the number of units, but "in the flesh" it is fine. Hot tub, sauna and steam room available as well as a small fitness center, and complimentary coffee and cookies in the clubhouse as well as a very small shop. There is internet access there, but $4 for 15 minutes seems steep - I think they would get more takers at say $1. It does make it worth taking a laptop, if only to check on park opening times.
Location: Great for Disney, probably less than 15 minutes (we didn't do Disney this time). Universal looks on the map to be completely on the other side of Orlando, but it is still only half an hour, with Seaworld slightly less. For those with an aviation interest, Fantasy of Flight is less than an hour away. Shopping: there's a Publix left and right on the 192, a Super Target right, and a Walmart just north on the 27.
We were there at a quiet time (last week in October) but the units looked around 40-50% occupied, judging by the cars. It's actually a great time to visit, as there are no lines in the parks - my son took me on The Incredible Hulk about an hour before closing, and we walked straight on, same with Duelling Dragons.
You will have read about the cleaning charge - but if you factor in the fantastic rate you are getting, it isn't so bad.
All in all, we had a fantastic few days, and really couldn't fault the resort management or the quality of the condo. Go for it!
