“Family Reunion Success”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2014

The facilities were wonderful and provided excellent customer service. From the planning to the family pictures the staff at Lighthouse Key showed hospitality above and beyond we ever expected. The General Manager and his staff showed our family the best time here in Florida.

Room Tip: Large families should choose a 3 or 4 bedroom

Everything exceeded my expectations. This resort has a huge amount to offer. the staff was friendly and very courteous. the location is a plus everything in short driving distance i.e. restaurants and shopping. The amenities are a huge plus, why go to the movies when they offer a 52 seat theater. This place is a must stay.

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a very pleasant stay. The staff are very courteous, the rooms/suites are very spacious (we had a 3 bedroom), and the housekeeping was excellent. My only complaint is that the beds are very firm. Mind you, I am a very 7 months pregnant right now so just about everything is uncomfortable, but it would be nice to see them upgrade their beds in the future. Just some constructive criticism. On a lighter note, the view of Disney's fireworks from our lake view room was spectacular. Thanks for our most enjoyable stay!

I stayed with my family at the Lighthouse Key Resort recently. The condo was a perfect size for us with the three bedrooms, kitchen, and living room area. It was nice to have three bathrooms, and really nice to have two of those bathtubs with the jets after spending the day at the parks.

Above all else though, it was great being so close to Disney and being able to take back roads in. The front desk was very helpful with maps and directions making sure we would find our way without incident. Nearby restaurants and grocery stores were a big deal too- especially having places open after the parks had booted everyone out. All in all, a place worth staying at.

Room Tip: I think being on the side of the condos facing the lake is the way to go, especially a floor or two...

I won't go into detail about how many times I/WE have visited Orlando in the past 23 years see previous reviews. However, this is the first time we have stayed on the 192.

There are a great many good quality restaurants to cater to every taste all very close and a publix and a super target, the delivery pizza/food from which was amongst the best I have tasted.

Lighthouse Key is a not too large or impersonal resort just off the 192. Traffic noise was minimal. It has a truly lovely Lobby/relaxation Area which houses a cinema (surprisingly good!) and a games room.

The resort is 10 minutes from the Disney resort areas and 20 from Sea World and 25 to Universal on i4.

The pool area is great. It's horseshoe shaped (heated) with patio tables in the middle. More importantly, it gets the sun ALL DAY. Please be warned other Top Rated resorts whilst very nice (the pointe, lake eve) DONT.

Our room was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. Like everywhere, we had a few minor maintenance issues, but these were sorted quickly.

I believe people make a place. Denise on the front desk was very nice and helpful Carlos the maintenance guy was brilliant, helpful, cheerful and polite (management (Ted) take note you need another 5 of him!) security at night was good and you felt safe.

Overall, this has been a great place to stay. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it for First Timers and experienced Orlandoers.

We stayed in a 3BR condo 5 nights, which was well equipped, nice condo and also very clean. It is gated, but as someone mentioned in an earlier review, apparently only monitored some of the time. We travel a couple times a year and typically stay in condo or vacation homes, so this was not our first. The only reason I couldn't give a 5 star rating is because of the lacking management of these homes. As someone else pointed out in an earlier review, they apparently have issues with giving out towels. I noticed the manager replied that it would be taken care of, but in our experience it hasn't been taken care of yet.

Upon making reservations, when we asked about the number of towels we would get, knowing there wasn't any housekeeping, we were told it was "no problem" to go and request additional towels from the front desk. However, the one time that we did, we were treated rudely and told twice in one conversation there are washer and dryers in the unit. We stayed 5 nights and had 5 people. Then we found out that with the length of our stay we were suppose to have a mid-week refresh, however it wasn't scheduled --why not??? We did eventually receive the mid-week refresh and the towels we needed, but it was not a hassle I want to deal with on vacation, especially when we were told it was "no problem" when we made the reservation to get additional towels. The salespeople and front desk need to be in synch and the front desk personnel need some customer service training.

It's worth mentioning also that we were sent and completed a feedback survey right after our stay. We did not receive a reply or any reasoning addressing our comments similar to above - again showing the lack of concern for people staying at the property.

Ted Y, General Manager at Lighthouse Key Resort and Spa, responded to this review, April 7, 2014
Dear Michelle O,

Thank you for your review of our resort. I'm glad to hear that you found our accommodations to be well-equipped and clean, as so many others have.

I do apologize for the misunderstanding that appears to have occurred with our front desk agent. It may help future travelers for me to take a moment to clarify our housekeeping services. All units are stocked with enough towels for the maximum number of occupants. All stays longer than four nights receive a full mid-stay service including fresh towels and linens. Should guests require extra of any item we stock, we are always happy to provide more on request, complimentarily.

I am very sorry that the level of service you received did not live up to the level of service we promise and deliver to so many other guests. I did receive your survey and have already addressed your specific experience with the staff member responsible.

Thank you once again for your review. I truly hope we will have another opportunity to demonstrate our genuine hospitality to you in the future.

Great entrance, reception, open airy & staff v helpful & friendly. Apartment was lovely, large, clean & home from home. We didn't use any amenities during our stay. You most definitely need a car when staying here.
