“nice place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

It was a nice place to stay. Rooms could be a little more updated. Nice that you can get drinks, snacks or food right in there and not have to go out. Actually a great location and close to Disney. The price was right. Friendly.

I love this hotel. Stay here about 8 weeks a year. This trip however was ruined by the attitude of Jasmine at the front desk. This woman has absolutely ZERO customer service skill. She is rude, lazy and short with guests. When I was there she would answer the phone, ask me to hold and surf the internet for 42 minutes until i hung up. The whole time watching from the lobby. Every guest ive asked has agreed with me, amazing hotel but she must go! My company has a million dollar a year contractw with club carlson and she alone has made us interested in cancelling it. If they have any care for their hotel they will terminate her immediately.

The pros:

The location is great. 10 minute drive from Disney parks/Downtown Disney, 20 minute drive from Universal Studios.

We were given coupons when we checked in. Among them, a free drink each night of our stay during happy hour at the resort bar, a dollar off the breakfast buffet, discounts for the resort deli and gift shop, buy 1 get 1 free drinks at the pool bar, etc. Very nice to see a little of where our resort fee was going. They also had movie nights in the lobby, games by the pool, etc.

Our room was always clean and smelled nice, even though the hallway in our building smelled very musty.

We loved the heated pool (regular pool still too cold in February) and jacuzzi after a long day at the theme parks!

The cons:

Upon first arrival, we were a little disappointed that no king rooms were available. Not only did we have 2 small beds, they were not sleep number (as listed in the amenities for this resort), and they were very uncomfortable (rock hard mattresses, scratchy linens).

The internet connection in the room went in and out. The cable TV was fuzzy on at least 6 channels.

The breakfast buffet was just so-so and too expensive in my opinion ($12/adult).

The shuttle service that the resort advertises for theme park transportation was completely unreliable. All 4 days we were going to the parks the shuttle was at least 30 minutes late. Sometimes it would not show up at all and we had to wait up to an hour for the next shuttle. It was a small shuttle bus that picked up from 2 other hotels so it was always full by the time it got to us and we had to stand for every trip (sometimes with no hand rails). The last night we were picked up from the park, the shuttle bus broke down twice on the 3 mile trek between Epcot and the resort, once in the middle of the interstate. The shuttle service was one of the biggest perks for us with this resort and it was a complete disappointment.

They were helpful from time of registration to check out. We found the location to has all the amenities needed for when we were on site after a long day out. It is near the Disney areas, Irlo Bronson activities, restaurants. The rooms are real clean and fresh. We were comfortable and felt safe. Good parking lot. We have stayed there twice in 4 months for total of 6 nights.

Room Tip: Rooms facing north have Disney view in a distance, Pick a end room

Breakfast is the best at this Ramada. Dorothy was the hostess and the chef served up great omlets over an open flame. Reinaldo checked me in and was a big help the entire visit.
Reinaldo and Dorothy and every staff person was professional and extremely attentive and like family to me and everybody in our large group. The room was fabulous and had free cable . Everything was clean plenty of soap towels and tons of extras you never see in a hotel room.

Things like refrig, coffee, couches, irons and ironing boards. This is un expected and a very big help. Fabulous artwork and lots of channels including sports.

Meetings were extremely successful as a result. People working hard all day.

I saw staff working long hours and very attentive and kind to all visitors.

This place may have been a great place in its day but that day has long passed. Sitting in the restroom and had a cockroach run a crossed my foot. It wasn't even dark in the restroom.
The furnishings in the room were old, beat up and from the 80's.

Went to this hotel because we got a groupon. It was a truly awful hotel. The guy checking us in had no idea what he was doing and it took him over 20 mins to check us in. Once we final got checked in and drove over to our room it was not worth the wait. The door stuck you had to slam it really hard to close it. The room was dingy, dark and old.The glasses were dirty, the sliding glass door leading to the "porch" led directly out to the parking lot & would not lock. The bed did not have a fitted sheet just a normal one tucked under the mattress. The ice machine didn't work. We almost walked right out but it was late & we were tired. The next day we got up early & were out of the room by 9am to hit the parks. Upon returning to the hotel around 8pm we found the room hadn't been serviced at all. We ended up calling and booking another hotel for the rest of our week. When we went to the front desk and told them we were leaving early they seemed to care less and simply shrugged. Thankful groupon refunded our money so we weren't stuck paying for this crap hole.
