Going to Florida with family? Why stay in a cramped one room hotel around a thousand people when you can have your own luxury home for practically the same price? My husband and my parents took the kids to Florida. There were four adults and six kids. Sound like a headache? No way. I could rave on and on about our accomodations but I'll just post the link so you can see for yourself where we stayed.Go to www.5star-floridadreamvilla.com and tell me if you would prefer a dusty hotel room over this. There is no comparison. First of all this home is in Windsor Hills Resort which is a very safe and beautiful private gated community with tons to do right there as you will see on the website. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel like you are on vacation. To be honest, we went to Disney only one day which is only 5 minutes away and I do mean 5 minutes. After all of the hustle and bustle of a long day at the park, you will be ever so grateful to come home to a fresh and clean 5 bedroom 5 bath home with it own private screened in pool. I know it sounds too good to be true but this home has EVERYTHING. The owner has made sure that the property is kept in top notch shape. Trust me, it's worth it even if you don't need all of the bedrooms. You will have comfort and peace of mind. I will definitely be staying there again on our next trip to Florida.

We were so impressed by Windsor Hills last spring that we returned--despite the fact that our unit last year had had an ant problem. (Be careful with properties that have tiny splash pools in the back.) This year we specifically queried for a unit where they could promise no ant problem and we were thrilled with the 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment we ended up in. It was spacious and clean and perfect for our family...we could have brought along another couple with all the space we had. The location is wonderful if you're going to Disney, and the property itself is fantastic. The pool is very kid-friendly...my 3 year old loved the shallow end and my 6 yr old can't wait till next year when he will probably be old enough to go down the giant slide!

My children also loved the park. My son made sandcastles in the sand area (plenty of beach toys are provided) and my daughter pretended she was a princess in the giant castle play area.

I am a runner and was happy to find there is a reason Windsor Hills has "hills" in its name as the path was just hilly enough to get in a good workout if you run (but there are flatter paths for those who'd rather not deal with hills.)

Next time we go to Orlando, we will return without question!!

We spent just over a week at Windsor Hills at 7770 Tosteth, better known as Arran Villa. We totally loved the house, the pool, everything! (yes, I asked for the owner's approval before publishing the address)

The house was very well equipped-- its obvious that the owners use it themselves and have it properly equipped. The location inside the community is perfect-- on a very quiet street with only 4 and 5 bedroom houses. Very family friendly, but also suitable for adults.

The owners are a total pleasure to deal with, but may get back to you a little slower than a full-out property management company will. But you will be charged much, much less than if you went through a big property management company.

If you're going to Disneyworld, you can't get much closer than Windsor Hills. Plus it's brand new and oh-so-nice. Splurge and rent a house to have some nice quiet space for yourself. We loved the one we rented on Tosteth.

I booked our first trip to Disney in January. I did hours of research-reading reviews and scouring the internet for the best bargain. I wanted more room than just a hotel room, but less cost than the rates of the Disney resorts. We have a party of 5-myself, husband, teen, 7yr old and my Mom. After reading all of the reviews I decided on a Windsor resort and found a great deal-a 3 bd condo for $550/7 nights. Couldnt beat that! We'd be traveling in the "down" time-before summer vacations kicked the prices , so that really helped.(Gotta love home schooling!)
We arrived and checked in-Head the advice and remember that the check in is not at the resort and that 129 is Irlo Bronson Hwy. Great staff-very friendly and very helpful. We finished all of our paperwork and went grocery shopping until it was 4. We drove out of the check-in, turned left and went a few miles to the Super Target. I just prefer that store, but you will pass a grocery store just outside of the resort/subdivision. Consider buying your refillible water bottles and fan/squirt bottles outside the park. We bought one at Target for about $7-at the park it was over $15.
We went back and to pick up our key. We were about an hour early, but she said it would be okay- the maid service had finished. We drove over to the resort and found our building. It was on the backside of pool-very close to the clubhouse. Unfortunately (just because we brought so much stuff) we were on the 3rd floor. There is no elevator-they are outside access condos. We hauled all of our stuff up(we'd just been to the grocery and intended on eating at the condo quite a bit, so we had quite a bit) I punched in the code to the lockbox- lo and behold. No key. I thought I was either in the wrong building or maybe I was doing something wrong with the lockbox. My husband checked it out . No key. I called the emergency number. She said she'd call the management and call me back. I waited for a bit, then called back. She was still waiting for word from the management company. After waiting 30 minutes, I called back to see if management was somewhere I could walk to, but it was offsite. She assured me she was working on it- very apologetic. A few minutes later, an Australian chap came with a key. He went in and found that there was still luggage in the condo. I guess the owner hadnt left yet and they couldnt contact him, so they wanted to accomodate us elsewhere. A little bit put off, after we'd carried all of our "stuff" up three flights of stairs, I kept in mind we were trying to check in an hour before actual check in time, so I couldnt put all sorts of blame on them. I was more than delighted to accept an offer to stay in a 3bd condo with a small pool on the back porch. We gathered our stuff and drove 2 streets away to our new little condo. Im so grateful for the management company and the check in folks for taking care of the problem so quickly.
The condo was AWESOME! Immaculate and roomy. There was a bedroom and bath downstairs with a huge pantry, kitchen, dining area, breakfast bar and living room(with dvd/vcr and playstation2) The little pool out back was just big enough to get in, cool off and have some fun) Upstairs is a washer/dryer (bring your own detergent-also paper towlels/tp, etc) A bedroom with 2 twin beds/a bath, adorably decorated with Nemo And a master bd with a king sized bed, huge dresser, big closet and big bath. Did I mention that there were folded towel animals in nearly every room-swans, elephants, etc. Very nice touch. It's just a really comfortable, pretty place. There are dressers in every bedroom.
The resort is just about 10 minutes to the parks- once you get down the route-it's no problem getting around. You are super close to all of the stores/restaurants.
I will definitely recommend this resort to everyone visiting Orlando without a doubt, and we'll be back.

We fantastic time at Windsor Hills Resort. We stayed in a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom townhome. The home was immaculatly clean and the beds were all pillow top mattress. There was even our own private pool in a screened in porch. It was a short 3 miunute walk to the main club hous. The owners were very accomodating and answered all of our silly questions. It was our first time renting a vacation home. I would highly recommend the home to anyone. www.islandlkproperties.com
