We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights, March 15-21. We found the hotel staff to be friendly, and the room to be very clean and comfortable. We paid $83/night.
This hotel is conveniently located, quick drive to the parks or to the Crossroads area. A gas/convenience store is within walking distance, and Walmart Supercenter is across the street. This hotel sits by itself, and has a wooded area behind it.
Parking -- We didn't always get to park in the best spot, but we never had trouble finding a parking spot.
Pool -- The pool was nicely heated, and had a sitting ledge inside all the way around the pool. The hot tub was hot and there was a very small children's playset on turf nearby. The pool area was nicely landscaped and had plenty of lounge chairs. The pool seemed to always have leaves in the bottom. Pool towels were sometimes available in a bin by the pool, and sometimes you had to ask for them at the front desk.
There was a small workout room with a few machines and a business center with 2 computers.
Room -- We had 2 queen beds and ample space, a small closet with hangers, standard dresser, tv, table, etc. The first afternoon, we returned around 3-4pm and the room had not been cleaned yet. We were told it was because they had so many check-outs that morning. Most days we returned to our room between 2-3 and the room had been cleaned. Another day later in the week the room was not cleaned when we returned. NOTE: The sheets were not changed at all during the week. The bathroom was always kept clean and new toiletries were left daily. We had the best mini-refrigerator in this room. Our drinks were kept very cold -- there was even ice in a water bottle at one point. There was a tiny freezer compartment also.
Noise -- I've read a lot of reviews about the thin walls. We only had a noise problem on 1 out of our 7 nights. The family next door decided to have a good rowdy time that night from about 10pm-1am, lots of laughing & shouting.
Breakfast -- Only served 7-10. It would be helpful if they started serving breakfast at 6. We like to get up & out early. The breakfast was okay. I think all the hot items were just freeze & heat (think TV dinner-quality). The hot items alternated: scrambled eggs or cheese omelets; sausage or bacon (both good); biscuits with sausage gravy; assorted breads, juices, instant oatmeal, mini-muffins. There were toast-your-own waffles but not a waffle maker. On Friday of that week, we went down to breakfast at 7am and NOTHING was out yet. One girl was setting out the coffee dispenser. I had toast that morning. A lot of people were angry, some guy had a business meeting at 8 and was very upset that he wasn't getting breakfast and was having to settle for just coffee. We found out that the main worker did not show up or call in. By 7:30 the hotel manager arrived to help and he pulled in the guy I had previously seen dipping leaves from the pool to help. When we left the hotel at 7:45, they were starting to put out some hot items. This was the only day this happened. The breakfast area had plenty of tables.
Problems/Complaints:
1. Sheets not getting changed
2. Breakfast the last morning
3. Security or landscape light shined up at our window, making it very bright in our room. (I like a dark room.) Because of this, I woke up several times throughout the night, thinking it was daylight. After the 3rd night of this, I pulled the extra blanket every night and piled it on top of the curtain road. This helped a lot.
4. Wake-up call. We had an early flight out and needed to be at the airport at 5am. We set our alarm and also requested a wake-up call. Luckily, the alarm worked because the wakeup call never came.
Overall, we would stay here again, but we would still look around for other hotels and better rates. I would not want to pay the usual $130/night for this hotel.
