“Not your typical resort ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The resort was not what we expected as far as amenities. No restaurants, shops, snack bar on the grounds. 4 small pools to accommodate far too many guests. Facility is fine for families with children who are here to visit the Disney parks, as there are kitchens in the rooms of you want to cook. If you use RCI you are given a less desirable location for your room. We do not have any intention of returning here.

I stayed for 5 days. It wasn't bad at all. They provided everything in the kitchen including a blender and burner [instead of a stove]. There was a washer and dryer in the condo which was great! That way we didn't have to travel with dirty clothes. The AC worked really well, in fact I was freezing half the time.... so I had to turn the unit onto 76 degrees. They have several pools and different activities around the complex. Fun for those who aren't picky.

When we checked in the room was dirty, the fire alarm battery was low (and beeped every 5 minutes), it took 3 days and me calling RCI for them to actually change the battery, when they cleaned the room the housekeeper didn't even vacuum the carpet or clean the floor, complaining about the horrible service won't work because they could care less...We had ants all over bathroom and kitchen we complained to the front desk people but they did nothing to fix issue. We own time share with RCI but this was a disaster. I truely dont understand how this property is rated with a GOLD CROWN for RCI. This property is horrible. WILL NEVER STAY AT THE VILLAGE VACATION ORLANDO AGAIN!!!!!

I stayed with my aunt and uncle at Vacation Village as they are timeshare holders. They have two younger children so we're looking to be close to Disney. Parking is ample, and the resort is far enough off the highway that it's super quiet. The room was a bit small especially when you're planning to be there an entire week. We had trouble finding places to put our luggage! My aunt and uncle thought they would be getting a full kitchen, however it was a partial kitchen with a full fridge, sink, microwave and an electric skillet. We made due with these appliances and were able to cook simple breakfasts and lunch. The pool area was beautiful and well kept but seating was near impossible to find. The pool was crowded, but I assumed many people were on spring break. There was central air in the unit which was great. They had fun activities such as hip hop dance/ karaoke daily for free. Disney was about a 13 minute drive and downtown Orlando was about 20 minutes. My family and I also did the nature walk, which was pretty nice, but Very short. Overall, it was a good stay. I know the resort is updating rooms, but our room was very outdated. We also would have appreciated extra blankets as all they gave us were light sheets/covers.

Came here last weekend with family. We had booked 2 rooms at the same time through their timeshare. Upon check in, they gave us 2 different buildings. The whole check in process probably took 45 minutes as they had to switch us to the same building...could have been avoided I think.

The rooms were OK. Definitely outdated. The couch and chairs and comforters were so old. The place was clean, but it actually kind of smelled. It smelled old and kind of moldy. I couldnt really see mold but I can see how it could have been because it was so hot i the rooms. The AC worked just fine. BAthrooms were clean and so was the kitchen. We didnt use the stove or anything though. One night at 12:30 am, water came streaming into the bedroom from above. It was coming out the light fixture above our jacuzzi tub. We called maintenance and they came within a few minutes. HE said that it happened a lot when people over flowed their tubs....however he just pulled the light fixture out and didnt fix anything at the time. i dont evne know if they sent anyone back at a later time. this could explain the moldy smell!!

the pool was PACKED with kids. It wasnt exactly the best for lounging. maybe they should have an adults only pool.

Location- about 20-30 minutes to Disney/Universal. TONS of restaurants nearby!

Since I rely on reviews I thought I would add mine....we were in building 6 and had a great view of the pool.
The unit was a decent sized one bedroom with a pull out couch and accommodated 4 of us really well.
We have no complaints and would definitely stay here again!!

My husband and I were invited to stay a week with friends/RCI timeshare owners. I read a lot of reviews from tripadvisor and was actually afraid of what we may find once we arrived.

This is a large complex resort which needs to update their lower number / older buildings. They are building more and more, but should focus on what they have. We were told a week before our vacation we would be in building 17(a newer building) AC unit, but when we arrived we were in a Building 3 'with AB unit. The first unit we went to was suppose to have a pool view, but looked right into the parking lot and some garage building that must house their lawn equipment. The RCI owner in our group was on the phone in 1 min demanding a pool view room! So we moved to the next building.
The A unit was spacious, but the B side was very small for a couple. The housekeeping is another story. Dust everywhere, floors needing cleaning and our windows on the B side needed something to hold them up ( we used anything we could find including soda bottles. Our mattress pad on our queen bed obviously was not the correct size and continually came off several times a night. We found someone's PJs under our bed, so the cleaners are not very efficient. Our garbage disposal smelled horrible so we had to buy cleaner.
The molding in the bathroom needed attention as well as some of the light fixtures, (some didn't work). No use in calling to get anything fixed as these types of calls are never responded to. The towels in the bathrooms are sandpaper rough! For those people who are use to fluffy resort towels, these are far from it and only are replaced once during the week so plan on washing them yourself.
The pools we used were nice and they are heated for those who want their water warmer.
They do provide some activities for kids during the week, but we didn't have any in our group so we didn't pay too much attention to details.
We told the management from the time we arrived, we don't a " free breakfast, free gift" or any other thing connected to buying a timeshare because it won't happen. Don't hassle us, get in my face or try to interfere with my vacation. We have paid to stay her, if we need assistance we will ask you. Do not bother me. Salespeople did not ever approach us.
So if you want to have a pleasant vacation and not be bothered you need to be blunt!

For the money we paid, Vacation Village at Parkway was okay. I doubt we would ever stay again, unless we would be guaranteed what we asked for.
If this is how they treat RCI owners I would hate to see how they treat non owners and what kind of rooms they get.
Lastly , we needed to print out our airline boarding passes for our return flight and they literally do not have anywhere to do this?!
Thank goodness a nearby resort was kind enough to let us do it there. They also didn't give us grief about buying a timeshare either!

Room Tip: A room with a pool view is nice, but it will be loud until 11:00 pm
