“Best Super 8 yet.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2011

Booked into another Super 8 near International Drive, but when we got there it was scruffy and dirty so we cancelled it and drove to Kissimmee. Called in here by chance and so glad we did, what a nice place. The room was spotless and beautifully refurbished, comfy bed and nice staff. Very impressed by the design of the furnishings, high spec materials everywhere. There were plug sockets just where you need them, there's a safe provided and the linens were good. The bathroom isn't up to the standard of the main room, but it's really clean and that's the main thing. Pool is quite large with 4 or 5 loungers, plus shaded table/chairs. Location is great, opposite Old Town and very close to a Dennys. I'd certainly stay again, would have no problem spending a week here instead of a regular hotel. All in all, a great couple of nights.

Stayed here for a week back in Feb around President's Day. Felt like we got a great deal through Expedia (use those Expedia coupons out there!) and the location was wonderful. From the airport, we were able to take a bus to the Disney Transportation Center and then another bus that let us out across the street from the Super 8.

Rooms were fine. We really liked that there was a microwave and a fridge in the room, made for a great way to keep some evening snacks/dinner without going out to eat. We didn't really care for the safe fee charge. Breakfast included some packaged bagels and small muffins and some cereal, but it was good enough for us. One of the biggest draws of this hotel was that the city bus stopped right in front of it. A quick walk to the bus stop and 15 minutes later, we were at the Disney transportation center. This was great for us as we didn't rent a car and realized that it would have been a waste of money if we had. Very convenient to get to Disneyworld with the city bus at 2 bucks each way. However, if you want to get to Universal, you will probably need to take a taxi or rent a car.

We were on the side of the hotel with the Publix and the trucks did start their deliveries around 5AM or so. If you are a light sleeper, I do not recommend this side. I'd say I'm a medium sleeper and when they slammed their truck doors, it woke me up. However, the location and value couldn't be beat and we will be back.

When I first walked into the room, I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean it was and how well it was decorated. The furniture is new, modern and coordinated. The beds have headboards that match the night stand, desk, chest of drawers and TV stand. The flat screen TV is great. There are plenty of electrical outlets and they are placed where you need them. In addition, there is a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Finally, it is located near Disney properties and other sites.

I ended up canceling my reservation at this property after discovering that it is still charging a nightly fee ($1.75 according to the employee with whom I spoke) for use of the in-room safe. Seriously? Is it really necessary to nickel-and-dime your customers this way? While this isn't as absurd as some of the resort fees charged by many motels and hotels in the area, in a way it's worse because guests are less likely to complain about it. After all, it's less than $2 per night, right? However, if you multiply this fee by the number of booked room-nights in a month's period, it makes for a tidy extra profit for the motel. Because it's a lower end property competing with other similar properties, a couple of bucks per night more might make someone book elsewhere, so I guess the answer is to just screw your customers by charging a hidden fee. When I emailed the property asking if they would waive the fee for my one night's stay, I received no response, so I cancelled my reservation and booked elsewhere. Here's a message to all hotel/motel/resort owners, managers, and accountants who read this: your customers are sick and tired of these shady fees! Build them into your room rate! We will do the research online and find out who's doing this, and you will have more empty rooms because of it!

Noise from other patrons who parked their harlies next to their room. Instead of walking their bikes out of respect to others that may be asleep at 2 am, they loudly rode them back there......no class. The pillows in the room were worthless.

Just needed a room for one night so based on other reviews chose this one but would stay here here again any time.Proximity to Old Town was main draw but this hotel is perfect and would reccoment it to anyone who wants a nice hotel at a great price especially with children when you are out all day but still need to entertain them at nighttime.

We chose this hotel thanks to the other reviews on this site - and on other sites. The hotel was inexpensive, quiet, and clean. We really only needed a bed and a shower, but the rooms were comfortable enough to hang out in if we chose.

There is a Denny's right next door, a grocery store behind and a little shopping/arcade/amusement park across the street. There is also a Walgreens about a block down which was great for those toiletries I forgot to pack!

The staff was great too. I would recommend you get a better breakfast elsewhere, especially if you are going for a busy day. They do have coffee, juice and some danishes and bagels. I didn't expect more, just a heads up. There is a fridge and microwave in the room which was great for meals on the go.
