“Very nice, I just felt nickled and dimed.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

The hotel is outstanding. Our kids ran around and saw the "ship", koi pond, alligators, etc. We really enjoyed the zero-entrance kids pool.

Our room was pretty average. I've stayed in motel rooms that were just as nice. We had an "awesome view" the parking lot and dumpster, but hey someone has to have that view, right?

Add $20 to your nightly rate for the resort fee. Add $18-$24 per day for parking. The resort fee covers your access to all parts of the hotel, wi-fi, and two bottles of water that are placed in the mini-fridge. There is no in-room microwave and I think that is intentional so that you can't reheat anything and must order room service or go to one of their restaurants. My husband requested a ride to meet us at Universal and they were prompt in providing a town car, but it was $40.

All in all it was lovely, we had a nice time, but I'm the type that would rather shell out the money for the room and that be the end of the fees.

Wonderful long weekend stay. Stayed Christmas weekend and enjoyed all the festivities. Loved the resort and the gardens. We arrived early and our room was ready so the check-in process was fast and easy. As expected the Atrium view room was fantastic, couldn't imagine staying here and not having the atrium view, worth the extra money! Very pleased with the customer service we recieved, on every level...from the security guard that came to help with our safe to the wonderful employee that walked us to our destination when we asked directions. Yes they do charge some extra fees such as the resort fee and valet, but they are up front in telling you, this is your choice to stay here. Room was neat and clean. We ate in a Vlla Flora, Wreckers and Sunset Sams, all were good. But if you have a chance order room service and eat on your balcony, pricey but worth it!!!
Would I come here again.......without a doubt!!

Room Tip: High floor and an atrium view is a must....

We had our semi-yearly stay at Gaylord in December 2012 as usual and management had just been taken over by Marriott so we were unsure what to expect. I have to assume that staff had been cut as our rooms were not cleaned and re-prep' d by 3 pm after leaving at 9 am and asking to have them cleaned within the next couple of hours. However, Tabatha, from the front desk did not let us have our bad vibes for long. Our stay was comped and not only that but a bottle of very nice red wine was in our room for our enjoyment. Thanks to Tabatha, we will continue to enjoy Gaylord in the years to come. Kudos to Tabatha !!!

This is a year round Sense-sational stay. Located in the heart of Florida, right off of I-4, about 1 mile form Disney's Animal Kingdom entrance, climate controlled interior with grottos and natural adventures imbedded throughout the safe confines of the hotel and convention center. It is easy to have a family stay, a productive convention and a romantic get-a-way here; and all can be successful with this well managed location. It is ideal for those that may have a member of your party that is sensitive to the sun, sounds, easily over stimulated, or even very energetic and needs safe spaces to walk or play. The outdoor pool area is a delight for old and young. The children’s water play area is great and many kids will be content to spend the day there instead of the many theme parks. But I loved lounging quietly in the adult pool area with the Palm tree lined Olympic lap pool, cabanas and bar services.

Room Tip: ask the front desk if you want something specific (Everglades was quieter, Key West was livelier, an...

The accommodations are lovely, and the layout of the hotel is very easily mastered. I attended a rather large conference, and the hotel easily handled all of the various sized meeting spaces. However, if you are without a car, you are very limited for dining options, and I thought the restaurant and cafe prices were excessive.

Room Tip: Many people prefer the interior rooms overlooking the atrium; however, those are more expensive. I...

Loved the Gaylord palms! Great staff and top service. My only complaint is the overpriced restaurants. $24 for a breakfast Buffett ..now really. I liked that we were just down the road from Disney too
