“Great place for little ones”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

My family and my sister's family share a 3 bedroom villa every year. It's a fully furnished kitchen so we grocery shop and make our own meals. The reason I love this place is because of the water park. It has a lazy river which is wonderful for the adults and a nice contained water park for the little ones. My 4 year old twins can play on the water slides on their own. Of course, I'm sitting next to the water slides and watching but they can play on their own. The slides end in water a few inches deep so I don't have to be at the bottom to catch them. We've done Disney and those parks but my kids prefer staying at the resort water park more.

My only dislike is that I am still surprised that a golfing resort doesn't have putt-putt.

Reunion Resort is an amazing 3 golf course resort. Filled with hundreds of beautiful homes, spacious condos, and one big hotel smack-dab in the middle of everything. You never see a piece of trash, and keep in mind, people live here full-time. And boy, would I want to! It is a golf haven! There are countless, beautiful pools, even a little waterpark. The rooms are very nice, they have a villa feel. The on-site food options are great, especially the Clubhouse and Eleven. What an amazing place!

Was at the resort for 4 days a golf with a group totaling 8 people in early May. Very disorganized approach the package included breakfast + $20 proshop credit. Every day was a new adventure explaining breakfast was included. I bought a shirt in the proshop and they said " you will get a credit on the bill". This did not happen. It is to about the $20 but the disorganization and poor guest relations.

We were told that they could not accommodate our group at the restaurant as the were booked. It certainly did not look that way. Instead we went off property to a great restaurant excellent seafood, steaks and a couple of magnums of Cakebread Cab. They really lost out.

The driving range was awful. No grass, poor set up for resort guests. The cart girls were friendly and helpful but not out on the course enough.

The room accommodations were so/so but they put our group in the units in the front of the resort so a shuttle bus t the main building.

I don't believe this resort is rated so highly by AAA or other TA guests. Don't waste our time or money.

Maybe Sheila Johnson will do something to improve this in the future.

Our party consisted of 2 adults, a 14 years old and 12 year old twins. Since we needed plenty of space we took a 3 bedroom villa rather than 2 small rooms in the main building. We had read the reviews of the Reunion and thought it would be a nice change to stay away from the usual resorts at Orlando and Disney. Boy, did we get that wrong. If you're not here for golf there's nothing else here for you. We arrived at 3 am to be shuttled to a room that wasn't ours. After unpacking the car and 3 sleeping children, our bellman took us to the wrong building. We then had to get back in the car and reload all of belongings. When we arrived at the right building, we found out that the elevator was not working and our rooms was on the 3rd floor. We shlepped everything up 3 flights of stairs with half asleep children, a room change was never offered. The room did not seem to be prepared for our stay. The air conditioning was off and took about 2 hours to cool the room to a cozy 72 degrees from 80. After settling in and getting two out of the three kids in bed, we discovered that 1 of our bags was missing, due to the fact that in the middle of all this, another driver came and switched vehicles with the bellman that was helping us. He took off with our bag because whatever he was doing was more important than making sure everything had been taken out of the car!! The next morning we went to the front desk because we had only been given 1 key and we needed 5. When we spoke to the woman at the desk, who was extremely pleasant, she told us that our account showed us owing $27.50 that should have been collected when we 1st arrived. She wasn't sure why (she had should finished her training) and went to speak to her supervisor, who was on the phone in the back. We waited approximately 20 min. and eventually they took off the charge and finally gave us the keys we asked for (which never worked). The supervisor never came out of the back to talk to us, nor did we receive a real explanation as to why when we had booked and paid for the rooms with a credit card on line at the confirmed price that included EVERYTHING, why we would still owe the resort any money. We then contacted the spa to set up appts for everyone including the kids. Our 1st indication that this would not be easy was that when we asked about the Asiatsu massage we were informed that the therapist was off on Fri and Sat ( this is a holiday weekend and staff are scheduled off? not smart). After a few hours and some compromising on our part we were able to book treatments for all of us. None of the treatments could be scheduled at the same time because there was only the one therapist on duty. If you're expecting a world class spa and to spend countless hours enjoying yourself, this is not the place for you!! The spa is a small house with small rooms, and although very cozy and comfortable, it is not what you expect from reading their website. Definitely not a day at the spa experience. The massage therapist was wonderful (Taby ?) 1 of the best massages I've had, but other than the treatments, there's nothing else there. If you're with kids, read the small print!! An adult must be with anyone under 16. Another point is that nowhere on the website does it say that anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied on the shuttle that takes from your room to other parts of the resort. We found out the hard way. After his treatment, our12 yr old wanted to go back to the room since he had gone 1st and didn't want to wait another 3 hours. The spa staff called the shuttle, but when it arrived the driver rudely told our son, "you can't come on the shuttle alone and left". We called and spoke with the manager in charge of the shuttle and an exception was made for that time only ( keep in mind to make that call, I had to leave my treatment get dressed and wait outside 20 minutes to then go back in for the rest of the treatments). The pool/water slide area was great for the kids. We ordered a hot dog and chicken fingers. The fingers were terrific, the hot dog was ice cold in the center. The website states that each villa area has it's own community pool area, which is not true. Don't stay in the North Villas if you're looking to spend time at a pool. You have to go to the big pool instead which is not convenient. Once we realized the limitations of this resort we reorganized ourselves and went off property every day. As for the rooms...The villa we occupied P304 was very spacious. The beds were comfortable but the linens were old with cotton balls causing the sheets not to be smooth. The apartment had everything one would need to cook. The only complaint was the master shower had mold and the drain nor the door to the shower did not work. We called the front desk three times during our stay but the shower drain and the door was not fixed. By the end of the shower there was three inches of dirty water. Yuck! We ended up using the shower in the other bathrooms. The other downside to the room was even though we had requested maid service the maid only cleaned one morning. She did a great job. We enjoyed our morning coffee from our balcony which over looked the golf course. This was a pleasant enjoyable experience which felt like a vacation.
Sincerely,
Party of 5

Room Tip: Stay close to the main hotel. The property is expansive and the wait time for the shuttle is at leas...

Thank you for visiting Reunion Resort and for taking the time to write such a thorough review. We truly appreciate your loyalty to the Reunion Resort and we are sorry your recent experience did not meet your expectations. We certainly understand your frustration given your issues with the Spa and our transportation.

Please understand, the age restriction for the resort shuttle is due to safety concerns and for that reason, to assist your party, we had a manager personally ride with your child to ensure their safety. We also do kindly ask for Spa reservations in advance, as your party was booked the same day, accommodating a party of 5 at the same time did prove to be challenging.

We do hope you choose Reunion Resort again should your travels bring you back to the Orlando area.

Just stayed at The Reunion Resort for the second time. This is really a great option for families if you can find a room that fits your budget. The rooms are well appointed, beds are comfortable and everything is really clean. Plus the staff is very nice and helpful.

This visit we stayed in Sandy Ridge. These are probably the least desirable units bc they are furthest from the entrance and it does not have its own pool. However, they are very close (but most people would drive not walk) to the water park which has a lazy river and a pool. And these units are very nice! I will upload photos of the unit we stayed in - three bedrooms, three bathrooms, great living room, dining area, full kitchen and balcony overlooking the golf course.

Some units are available on rental websites, some online thru the Reunion Resort website and some by calling the resort directly. If you shop around, you will find good prices are available. It is about a fifteen minute drive to the Magic Kingdom from here.

We stayed at the resort with a group of friends. Had a great time, interesting and challenging golf courses. The steak house on the top floor was very good. Great view. The other restaurants were equally good. Excellent service by all the staff.

We are here for a week, and if you love golf, it's simply the best place to be, however, there is a great need to adapt what would be a great place to be, to the number one destination in Florida! The bars are not open until specific times, which proves a problem if you cannot access a cup of coffee whilst waiting for you room to be ready. There is a great pool on the 11th floor, but no access to any service, this is greatly disappointing! Is it all golf!! The staff however are simply amazing, efficient and precise. I believe this could be so much better.....
