“nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Overall a nice hotel. Staff is very friendly at the front desk. Pool area very nice, as well as breakfast buffet, plan extra time can be slow, a bit understaffed. Rooms could use some update but are clean. Would recommend.

We had an excellent 2 weeks at this hotel. All staff including senior management couldnt do enough for us. Whilst we were there my wife celebrated her birthday, the hotel found out and made the day even more special. The rooms were all decent and in the vicinity of the pools.
The restaurant was very good but it was the staff that made it evn more enjoyable.
The rooms have everything you need for a holiday close to Disney howevr if you want any extra pillows or anything this hotel will provide and will sort any request quickly.
I would recomend this hotel to anyone who a peaceful holiday in a good clean establishment.

We stayed here on family vacation. Our child had an allergic reaction to something in the room, and when the front desk was notified, they sent a housekeeper to the room to show us the cleaning solution. Nothing else, or no other concern was made. We choose when we booked our reservation online for the "continental breakfast" option, however we are FL residents so that didn't apply. What kind of hotel doesn't have continental breakfast? We paid for the breakfast there and it was horrid food. The staff wasn't pleasant in my opinion. The most positive feed back I can offer is that the location wasn't far from the parks.

Room Tip: If you're going to any of the Disney parks- pay the extra money and stay at their resorts.

Alright. I don't want to be super harsh, cause it's a place to sleep. It's really close to Disney and they have a shuttle to it but they are very limited (Epcot: 8:45am or 9:05am and pick up 9:30pm or 12:30pm and magic kingdom 11:20am or 12:30pm to 7:45pm or 10:30 pm. ). This is the same for going to Sea World (8am ONLY to 6:00pm) or Universal (8am ONLY to 6:15pm). While I very much appreciate they even have a shuttle, it doesn't help when you ask for a wake up call at 6:45am so that everyone can shower, get ready and eat before getting on the bus. YEAH RIGHT, no wake up call the whole three days we were there. The first morning we got up at 9am so we really missed the bus, and the desk person acted like it was our fault. He said they have a system and had no record of us requesting one. I requested one for the next two day and...you guessed it, no wake up. We paid $15.00 each day to park because they would not drive us. We also didn't make breakfast because of the no wake up. So we would set our cell phones and found that the wall plugs don't work unless the switch is on, and that means the lights are on. We ended up charging our phones in the car the entire time. The fridge is either not cold or freezing so soda will explode. You can hear every person going past (REALLY LOUD) with a rolling suitcase because of the brick walkway (even on the second floor). There are two pools which looked nice but it was too cold to go in. I'm not sure I would stay here again.

I stayed here previously and came back for another 6 day stay this month. Again, was very happy in our Tower room (8th floor) over looking the fireworks in Disney way off in the distance. The room was clean, microwave worked well, as did the coffee maker and fridge. The water pressure in the shower was very good and the hair dryer worked ok. The location is ok in proximity to Disney and was easily walkable to the Black Angus Steakhouse next door. The room was cleaned promptly and well everyday. The only down side was the mattress - pretty hard (and we like firm). We were very happy here again.

Room Tip: Get a tower room on the 8th floor overlooking Disney's fireworks at night. Its pretty far away b...

Beware when you stay at the hotel and store your bags with the bell desk. They allow complete strangers to pick up other bags and walk out with the closet with them. Took the hotel close to 2 days to find my bag. All the GM has to say is sorry don't know how it happened or why. GM can care less if you had to change your plans all around while they find bags missing.

Room Tip: Don't stay there find another hotel near by.

RamadaGatewayGM, General Manager at Ramada Kissimmee Gateway, responded to this review, March 25, 2013
There are two sides to every story as everyone knows. The truth with this story is that yes, the hotel had difficulty locating the guest's bag when he returned to claim his bag 5 days after staying with us for one night. Our luggage storage is typically for a number of hours while departing guests are waiting for PM flights and want to see the parks for the day. We are happy to store luggage for that time, and have never had a lost luggage incident previously. In this case, the guests luggage was sent to lost and found as it had been in the bell closet for days and was considered abandoned. The error was that the employee that removed the luggage neglected to communicate what had been done with the bag, and when the guest arrived to claim the bag, the hotel staff, including the GM, didn't think to check lost and found; an unfortunate mistake. At the time, the guest was offered $250 in compensation for a lost item, which he declined, stating that there was over $550 in contents for the bag. On Monday morning, the GM met with the guest and began to question the validity of the claim. Asking the guest for a few minutes to do some more looking for the bag, the GM found the bag in the lost and found department and personally handed the bag to the guest within 15 minutes. This guest then went on to say to Ramada that he should be compensated with free room nights and cash up to $200. There are some guests that make a habit of complaining to the hotel brand to receive compensation for free stays. If you look at this guests previous reviews, of the 10 reviews he has done, 8 of them are either a 1 or a 2. Once again he has chosen to go to social media and say negative things about a hotel, as he has done about this hotel previously. (yet he returns) In this case, he has received no additional compensation.
