We stayed at this "hotel" thanks to a JetBlue deal for Orlando (2 adults, 1 child) - Some may argue you get what youi pay for but trust me when I say the "hotels" website is very misleading. We expected to stay in a hotel, what we got was a motel room. There are 2 parts to this "hotel", an actual hotel with rooms built vertically, and a seperate section, which is setup in the horizontal ground floor motel layout. We were given a ground floor motel room, on the backside of this place. It was an incredibly creepy area with all sorts of charecters hanging out, smoking and drinking until all hours of the evening in the back parking lot. We could hear EVERYTHING because the walls were paper thin. The place in general is run down and the people behind the guest check-in desk were extremely unfriendly and rude. The beds were insanely uncomfortable. We had better TV on the plane, the television played about 20 channels - all of which hummed and were unwatchable. They advertise a free shuttle to the parks (disney/universal) however they don't mention that they only run these shuttles ONCE there and ONCE back certain times of the year (like November, when we went). Be prepared to pay for cabs if your flight schedule doesn't allow time for their free shuttle schedule. We also detected a mold smell in our room - it was pretty foul. Oh, and if you're planning to save a little bit of money by enjoying their continental breakfast - think again. Continental breakfast included the smallest cup of fruit you could possibly imagine, ALL the fruit was BAD and rotten. a cup of plain yogurt, and a bagel the size of half my fist (and I'm a petite female). In addition, this bagel I was served, and the one they served my child had MOLD on it. Needless to say, we didn't end up dinning there. Take my advice, there's a TON of hotels in the area all within a mile or 2 of Disney's parks... stay anywhere but this place, you'll be much better off!
Room Tip: Don't stay in the hotel. Period.

It is completely true that the hotel is divided into two sections, the standard rooms and the deluxe rooms in the tower portion of the property. We clearly show both sections of the hotel on the website. The lower priced rooms are in the two story section of the property. The higher priced rooms are in the interior corridor section or the 8 story high rise part of the hotel. The 2 story section of the hotel has walls of cinderblock between every room, not "paper thin", but typical of construction here in Florida at the time the property was built. In September of this year, we installed a new cable TV provider, Summit Broadband. We have 38 channels, including 3 HBO channels, as well as high definition channels in the deluxe rooms with the flat panel TV's. This is the first complaint I have received since the install. For any future guest having any picture quality issues in their room, please let us know immediately and we will switch out the TV. Our FREE shuttle service to Disney runs Three times, once to the Magic Kingdom and twice to EPCOT. We run one trip to Universal and Seaworld, while these parks are less than 20 minutes from the hotel, they are not the high demand for our guests. Printed schedules are available at the desk daily. Our fresh fruit is delivered weekly from our national supplier SYSCO and we have not had issues with "bad" fruit, however my hope is that if this were pointed out to the server in the dining room it would have been immediately taken care of. If something like that was not caught first by the culinary team, I sincerely apologize.
This reviewer is correct, there are a number of other properties in the immediate area. We encourage all Tripadvisor readers to look at the hotels they are selecting and know what it is that they are purchasing prior to the purchase. Our hotel has three distinct room types, the least expensive room faces the parking lot, the next price tier faces either one of the two pools, or a garden area, and the higher priced rooms, the deluxe, are in the tower section of the hotel. If you choose the standard parking view room and would like to change to a deluxe when you get to the hotel, we are happy to do that, with the associated rate adjustment, based on availabiltiy. A caution on the hotels in the area, many are quite a bit more expensive, and many have resort fees that the Ramada Gateway does not have. We hope you enjoy your stay with whatever property you choose in the area.
