“Nice Studio Room - only if you don't settle for less”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2010

I was originally booked at the Westgate Vacation Villas studio room and when I checked online, as previously stated by another guest, it was a two bedroom hotel room. I called and spoke to a supervisor and asked to be changed a Town Center studio, which is a one bedroom, living area/kitchenette room.
I was in 5356B, a newer building. Nice vestibule entering into apartments A & B. Clean room, couple minor maintenance issues, fixed quickly, lots of fresh towels, lot of pillows, nice bed linens, sofa bed ok. Big bathroom- with separate shower enclosure, big soaps. Shampoo, conditioner, full coffee pot, with one pot service. Pool, mini-golf nearby. Sales people everywhere desperately wanting to seal a deal- it is a timeshare complex.
They do hold onto your keys and give you the pitch before you get to your room.
Huge complex. Plenty of things for families to do.
No free wifi.
I paid $59+ (but remember I was upgraded upon request.)
Got an early (11 AM) check-in upon request also.
A $50 deposit required at check-in - refunded, if not used at check out.
See my photos.

.We enjoy staying at Westgate because of its convenient location, roomy accomodations, ammenities, and friendly staff. We particularly love the huge columned hot tub in the master bedroom. There is something for every age here from theme parks to playgrounds, paddle boats, shopping and great dining. The pools and fitness center are well maintained. Families and couples of all ages would enjoy this resort.

Just came fro staying at Westgate Town Center, we had booked a suppossed studio unit, which in all other places I have booked that type of room comes with a small table, chairs,a small living room with a pull out sofa, and a partioned or separate bedroom.
Not so here, all you get under this type of room is a bedroom with two double beds, a small fridge, a microwave, and plates and utensils. No, you do not get a table to eat whatever you have cooked, or even a couch to sit in, no chairs either unless you count the one chair for the small desk next to the tv.

Also, there is nobody at the pools to monitor the signs that they have telling people that there are no unsupervised children allowed, or no diving into the pools, or glass cups allowed.

All in all very disappointed, having stayed at other timeshare units that provide better accomodations, and better supervision of common areas, allowing their guests time to relax, and enjoy their vacations.

We value and appreciate your response. We apprehend that you had issues with the accommodations in your unit. We do advise our guests’ if there’s anything they need to please let our staff know, they would be more than happy to bring it up for you. Our staff works hard to assist our guests’ in their needs. We do have security on the property but keep in mind that we are a big property. We hope you allow us with the opportunity to provide you with a more relaxing stay.
Sincerely,
Idalise

After reading reviews on here, we were nervous upon arrival. Our minds were put at ease very quickly.
I can't comment on the sales process because we are using it as a guest of a timeshare owner so we didn't receive any sales pitch at all.
We stayed in the 5400 building in the town center and we couldn't be happier with the room. Cleanliness could be a little better but nothing major. The grounds are very well kept and the service staff that we've been in contact with have been very nice. I would definately stay here again.

I was a little skeptical about staying here due to other reviews I have read on this hotel. Once we arrived I was sure it was going to be terrible as check in took an hour on line and then off to staff trying to schedule a timeshare tour. I declined and they didn't have a problem with it. One of the staff members escorts you to your room and shows you around, nice personal touch. The property is HUGE and is maintained well and very clean. Our room was HUGE. We traded in our two bedroom timeshare for this property. It was two floors a master bedroom with a master bath, kitchen, living room with sleeper sofa, 2nd bedroom with 2 beds and a bathroom, nice kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and 2nd floor had 2 twin beds also unit had a private balcony. Safe area and parking lot and there is security at gate making sure everyone who is getting in belongs there. Drive is not to far maybe 10 minutes from the Disney parks and area attractions. They have pools throughout the property, also childrens park area and mini golf. Would stay here again!

We are a young Scottish couple, and have just spent the most amazing two weeks in Orlando. The hotel being one of our biggest fears (due to negative reviews) turned out to be one of the highlights! It was amazingly clean, the maid attended with fresh towels every morning, there were enough facilities for us to have breakfast before venturing out, the hotel was not only close to the parks, but also to the 192 where you can find lots of other attractions and restaurants. It was great to come back at night, open a beer and watch a movie (the tv had a good choice of channels including hbo movie channels).

Just another small thing, but it made me smile everytime. When you drive up to the security office on the way in, expect a smile and a salute from the extremely pleasant and efficient security staff once they get to recognise your car.

Honestly, if you are a young couple out to have a blast in Florida, this place will fit your needs perfectly. No complaints whatsoever!

Got room on Hotwire for $49/night. Was worried about all the negative reviews, but loved the price! Room on Hotwire was listed as a "suite". It would have been very small for 4 of us - two parents and two teenagers. Fortunately we got upgraded to the next bigger size suite because they screwed up our reservation. Observations:

1. Cleanliness - no problems. Room had a little bit of a musty smell, though. The grounds are well kept and pretty.
2. AC - didn't work very well. Room would get up to 79 by end of day (mid-August).. Two ceiling fans helped and we weren't ever in the room until after 7:00 p.m.
3. Registration - staff was friendly and helpful. It was a slow week they said. Pressure to "meet for breakfast and tour the facilities" so they could try to sell us a time share was not too bad. We brushed them off easily.
4. Parking was good, close to room. Pool was good, but loud at night. We stayed on 5th floor and it was still loud until it closed at 11:00. Fortunately, we travel with ear plugs!
5. Bedding - king bed in room was ok, but sofa couch was lumpy. We put the mattress on the floor and slept there.
6. Bathroom - great! Had good water pressure in shower and the bathroom was big
7. Security - you have to go through a gate to get in and there was always someone on staff driving around the area. We felt secure.

Overall, ******for the price*******, it was a good deal. We spent most of our time out of the room and just needed a place to sleep and shower and this was sufficient for that.
