We tend to avoid buffets. But we were hungry and I had just mentioned that I had been to an all-you-can eat lobster buffet a few years ago while in Orlando. Moments later, we drove by the Boston Lobster Feast and decided to stop in for an early dinner (about 4:30 pm, we got a $3 discount). The buffet is full of everything you'd expect - salads, fresh fruit, a variety of hot and cold items. But it also had several things you wouldn't normally see on a buffet - several types of oysters, mussels, whole lobsters, and the choice of made to order bacon-wrapped sirloin, burgers and a few other things. I try to eat fresh and healthy, and there were plenty of tasty choices for me that weren't fried, cheesy, breaded or dripping in butter or mayo. There were a few losers on the buffet, but overall there were more good choices that tasted great than mediocre ones. The steak had decent flavor but was chewy. The lobster was delicious. The entire meal was all you can eat. Our server came to our table frequently to clear our plates, lobster shells and get us anything we needed. She seemed to really like her job and she was very knowledgeable about seafood and fun to talk to. The place was busy - they go through about 1,000 lobsters a day! It just seemed so unusual to be eating lobster off a buffet in a restaurant that felt like it was just above a fast-food joint. This made for a fun start to our vacation.
