Complaints made by previous guests are believable,but our stay was a good one.I have stayed at nicer Holiday Inns,but this is the only major hotel between Marathon and Key West.The place was full every night.I would gladly stay there again.Remember,you are paying for location.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights so we could go to FantasyFest in Key West as all hotels were booked or required a four-five night minimum stay. The rate was about $250/night. The room had a strong floral deodorant smell. It was a nonsmoking room. It had bright yellow stucco walls in this plain square room without a closet and a filthy bathroom floor. The mattress was so hard that after awhile, it hurt our lower backs when laying on our backs and hips when sleeping on our sides. It has a window a/c unit that is fairly loud. There was a heavyset woman at the front desk that was unfriendly and nasty to deal with upon check-in. The pluses: The tv was ok. I feel that part of a vacation is a nice hotel room. We said we just needed a clean place to sleep, but we still had to spend some time in the room not sleeping and just relaxing. Staying here did not add anything to my vacation experience, it took away. I don't understand the prior comments that people actually enjoyed being here and would come back. I guess it is what you are used to. If you usually stay at a Westin Hotel, Ritz-Carlton or a Four Seasons Hotel, you will not be happy here. The Holiday Inn makes me gag.

We went to Marathon to Scuba Dive and did a package deal through the Abyss dive shop on property. Couldnt get a better deal on room and diving, you have to book with Abyss, not the Holiday Inn. Very convenient to walk out of our room right to the dive boat. Abyss dive shop has great friendly people who made us feel welcome and comfortable. Our room was clean and had plenty of towels. We cant wait to go back again.

Talk about "snotty" and "rude" people. The people at the front desk were the very definition of. We felt like we were stupid and bothering them. The room rate was $189.00 which was unbelievable/ The parking lot was trashy, there were two towels in our room and aftering asking several times for more we finally had to go to the rude people at the front desk and get them ourselves. This was probably one of the worst places I have ever stayed.
