5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We were three sisters together with our pre teen and teenage girls. The accomodations were wonderful. Our unit was spotless, nicely decorated and had a great view. It was windy for our visit but we made full use of the tiki bar and had great service. We celebrated a birthday in the restruant one evening, the food was very good. I can't wait to return, we all loved ti.

Room Tip: We stayed in unit 80, great location

After much thought and deliberation we chose to stay here, it was worth it, for the most part. The grounds are outstanding, nice green grass, palm trees, flowering plants, white sand beach. There isn't really a bad walk to any rooms I could see from the parking lot, they are tree lined, nice wide sidewalks.
Our room was spacious in the living room and kitchen. The bathrooms were on the small side, but I'm not there to hang out in the bathroom, so it was no concern. Taking 2 preschoolers, there was still enough room to bath them. The master bedroom is huge, all bedrooms have porches!
My biggest concern was the worn out beds/sofa/chairs. For what you pay a night, I wouldn't expect the beds to creek and feel like ones in Motel 6, but they do, at least in #34. The living room furniture, well lots of little kids around, so what do you expect? I would give this a 5 rating, but it was the beds and the fact that the pool isn't heated earned it a 4. It was 80 degrees for the air temp, but that pool water felt rather chilly.
The beach is very nice, but that pesky sea grass does smell, like rotten sewage. This isn't the resorts fault, it seems to be part of vacationing in the Keys, it was at all the beaches. I don't think they are allowed to remove it very often, if at all.
All I can really say is if you're from up north and you go here in the winter months, there's not too much you can complain about, sunny and 80's everyday!
The on site restaurant is very pricy, as is the bar/tiki hut for being served in plastic cups. I'm assuming the beach dictates plastic.
The maintenance staff is great, they oiled our squeaky doors! There are some comments here about the staff, what little interaction we did have with them was pleasant. The housekeeping is great, kids stuffed animals always nicely arranged on their beds.
I'd stay again!

Room Tip: You really don't need beach front unless it's very important, it's a great walk from the...

This was one of the best resorts we've stayed at in the Keys. The grounds are well maintained and Summer at there reception desk was very helpful and a delight to greet us upon arrival. I do have to say I don't understand the $25/night resort fee since there wasn't anything "included" with that other than the beach, gym, and pool which are standard amenities anyway. They should consider abolishing the fee. Also, our bed was very squeaky and uncomfortable with a sagging feeling down the middle. I would definitely come back again and negotiate out of the resort fee.

Room Tip: water view is worth it but I probably wouldn't pay extra for water front

This resort was very clean, decorated just superbly and was very fitting for the keys. The staff seemed genuinely friendly, the restaurant far better than anticipated, and the only two amenities we wished for while there were a hot tub and a small sundries shop on the premises simply for the sake of convenience. We have traveled extensively and consider ourselves quite particular, so we are pleased to say we hope to visit Tranquility Bay Resort again!

Room Tip: We had a two bedroom for three gals on a "girl's trip w/o our husbands. It was a bit away f...

We were traveling to Key West and decided to stop over in Marathon for a night. I didn't have much time to research a place to stay but found Tranquility on tripadvisor so thought we'd give it a try because we got an awesome one-night rate. Imagine my surprise when we pulled into the resort and our first experience was of white picket fences and gorgeous white buildings. Wow! Then we checked in and were greeted by a very friendly, pleasant yound lady named of all names, Summer! It just got better from there. Our two-room condo was very well decorated and pleasant. The twin room was a bit cramped by requesting the beds be converted to a king, but it worked well all the same. The back patio to the condo was very refreshing. We visited the Tiki Bar and had some awesome cocktails while talking with Jeff, the bartender, for our entire bar visit. Jeff had quite some stories to tell and really, really enjoys his job! Thanks for a great evening Jeff. We even enjoyed the "tom cat" that stopped by our door step for a visit. Thanks for a great stay....we highly recommend your resort and will be back very soon!

We took another trip to the Keys to fish in January. We stated at Tranquility Bay resort for the 3rd year in a row. This place is a little expensive, but when you get there you realize that it is very, very nice - the grounds, the town homes, and the pool and ocean areas. We had 3 guys on the fishing trip, and the 3-bedroom townhome, for 4 nights, was $1188, or about $400 per person. This includes the $25 daily resort fee, and all taxes. With the full kitchen, huge living room and dining room and the 3 bedrooms, this place was great, as always.

Room Tip: There are waterview rooms, pool view rooms, and garden/grounds view rooms. All of them have a great...
