“Family Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

Great experience, the pictures actually are accurate representation of the property. Huge kid pool that is saltwater (spending the day at the pool, this is awesome)

All units are in excellent condition, washer dryer are awesome, also great coffee maker with Seattles Best Coffee for Coffee drinkers! (yes the water is filtered)

Condos are bright and the grounds are very well kept, we have a 2 and 6 year old both boys and they had a blast, completely worn out each day!!!

Food and staff we also awesome, very great time, finally the other guests with kids were nice and it was a great time (the fact that the adults are seperate from kids area is awesome)

Room Tip: great if you have kids stay near the kids pool

We stayed there last year in mid august and also the year before. The place is paradise beautiful pools, man made beach and a killer view of the gulf, spectacular sunsets... The restaurant is pricy and very average I would not recommend it. You can cook in the kitchens of the units or eat out tins of good restaurants in the area. You can relax all day until the weekend natives show up. The management will and does rent units to as many people that can fit in them and the weekend turns into coney island, loud music in a a variety of languages and you want your money back. Does no good to complain, nothing is done. I would only go there Monday thru friday and check out friday as the animals come in for the weekend

Room Tip: all the rooms are nice

We stayed at Tranquility Bay for 3 nights last week and wish we would have stayed longer. It is a very relaxing place, the grounds and pools well kept. The beach area is pretty, but not so much of a real swim area. The bar is the perfect place to watch the sun go down. For the accomodations themselves the units are nice, clean and well kept, but nothing super fancy. The only negative for me was the linens were bit past their prime ... the sheets were so worn there were holes and the beach towels were a little ratty. Overall a great stay!

We stayed at this hotel for a change and were a bit underwhelmed. The "Beach" left something to be desired and the roof leaked onto our laptop when we took a shower upstairs. The tiki bar was small but pretty nice. We won't be going back.

Booked an impromptu vacation with my husband and 10 yr old son for the end of May 2012. Only available unit on the beach was a three bedroom oceanfront. :)
The PROs
+++++" Beautiful tranquility" should be the resorts name. We watched the best sunsets we have ever seen and they compared to Kanapali Beach in Maui. The resort landscaping is very lushfully decorated and manicured with exotic trees, flowers and adorned with many coconut trees. The Tiki Bar was the best place to be before sunset. Each bartender - Jeff and Brandy were very helpful and entertained both our son and another vacationing couples very well.
Our 3 bedroom beachfront # 37 was huge! Furniture and beds were very comfortable. So comfortable that there was no staying awake after getting in the beds. Had the best sleep I've had on vacation in a long time.
Loved our two decks overlooking the ocean. We were on the Gulf of Mexico side of the island which made for the best sunsets one could imagine.
The family pool was very large and adorned with coconut trees offering bits of shade on some pools during the heat of the day. There is a gradual walk in area of the pool where small children could easily play without concern for drowning. Peace of mind :) ! The pool water is salt water and felt fantastic. The pool was never full while we were there. In fact, it sort of felt like we were on a deserted island since we didn't see lots of other people except at sunset by the Tiki Bar.
Resort location was fantastic. There's a Publix and Walgreens closeby including The Fisherman's Hospital should one need to go should you have a family member that has a health issue. We were about 1 mile to the Seven mile bridge and were surrounded by great area restaurants and boating, cataramans. The ocean was very placid so we could easily go snorkeling and kayaking. Go to the Surfside Restaurant and Tiki Bar with a pool to get a great view of the bridge. Recommend only appetizers and drinks since the food was so so.
Tranquility Resorts - Butterfly Restaurant was beautiful as well and the food was very good and offered a varied selection and price points. We also ate at
A couple was married on the point by TJ's Tiki Bar and a couple had their prom pictures taken by a professional photographer on the point by the Tiki Bar at sunset. Tranquility Resort is a must for a destination wedding or renewal of vows. I am thinking about it for our 25th wedding anniversary.
All guests were wonderful. We met quite a few families and couples from both nearby and abroad. A family from Amsterdam, Britain, New Hampshire, and Miami. The family from Miami and Marathon were very friendly and even invited us to a seafood dinner. It was fantastic! The New Hampshire family and us hooked up for a jetski tour of the Seven Mile Bridge and Dolphin Watch. We had lots of fun with them and made some great new friends!
The Cons
--- Iguanas were a curiosity factor for us in the beginning until they left a poop on our deck and on the pool.
There was no children's recreation activities scheduled. We realize this was not advertised but it became an issue with us with an only child who became bored until we found other children for him to play with.
No oven grill plates are available - I called housekeeping. This is the first resort I have ever stayed at where we could not grill a steak or fish in our oven. This is an issue when the resort does not offer any outdoor grills. We spent large dollars for an ocean front to then cook pan fried steak.
Our room had no resort literature, note paper or pens. I had to search my belongings for a pen and paper to take notes for shopping list and excursions.

Summary
Tranquility Resort is a very beautiful lush resort where guests are pampered. I strongly recommend the resort to honeymooning couples, families planning a reunion or a stunning wedding location. Our son cried when we left - if I was 10 yrs old - I probably would have too. Thankfully we left in the early morning before sunrise. Looking forward to returning to Tranquility Resort again.

Room Tip: #37 great sunset and sunrise views of the beach

We had a very nice Memorial Day weekend in the keys. Tranquility Bay is now one of our favorite places that we have ever stayed at. It is the cleanest hotel/resort! The Butterfly Room was delicious and the service was excellent. The grounds are very nice also. The view from our partial ocean view room was beautiful. Loved the pool. I noticed some reviews complained about the beach - sea weed/sea grass are a part of going to the beach. You will find them at every beach in the Keys. We had a nice time laying out. Even though I know the resort was fully booked, it never seemed crowded. When we were at the beach or the pool we were able to find a private place to ourselves. I only wish they had a restauraunt open or room service available for breakfast! My husband was also disappointed that the bar and pool closed a little earlier than he would have liked, but this is a family resort. Overall we had an amazing stay and can't wait to go back!

Very nice accomodations. Very clean and well provisioned. Porches are very nice. Beautiful tropical grounds with and occasional green iguanas for atmosphere. Nice sunset viewing. Swimming pool is very nice. Beach is very small and not really useful for swimming. Go to nearby public beaches. Bahia Honda park is excellent.

Room Tip: If possible get a water view room as they are further away from main road.
