“Beautiful park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2012

We stopped here for a very pleasant afternoon. The park had kayaks to rent but we just relaxed on the white sand beach, in the shade of the picnic huts , paddling about in the warm ocean and strolling about the waters edge spotting fish, hermit crabs and wading birds.

There were rest rooms, a rinsing shower and a coke cola machine as well as interpretative board on the wild life.

A great spot .

“kayaked over too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Since kayaks were always available at Valhalla I took advantage of the opportunity daily to either go through the mangroves or explore the coast.

“Great beaches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

This is a great place to get away and enjoy soft sandy beaches and laid back nature. My boys had a ball in the sand and water, and a very nice man fishing nearby made their day tossing a fish he caught up on the beach for a White Heron to retrieve and eat in front of them. We loved it and will definitely be back.

“Perfect spot for families with young kids!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

We were looking for a place to rent a kayak and a local recommended Curry Hammock State Park. The kayak rental was about $20 for a double and was great. Definitely take the your around the island.

The beach was pretty but there is so much seaweed that we didn't want to get in past our ankles.

The playground was great for our youngest child.

Bathrooms were spacious and clean, but could have used a bench. The outdoor shower was annoying in that it required you to manually hold the lever to get water to flow.

The park entrance fee was only like $9 for our van load of people so you can't go wrong here.

“Great park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

This is a clean, friendly and quiet park. To all the people making negative comments about seaweed on the beaches i suggest you vistit the rest of the Keys beaches and it is very much the same. And for those that have issues of bugs well welcome to camping in Florida. If you cant handle the outdoors then i suggest you get a room.
