I enjoyed the weekend trip I took here with friends last month and I couldn't wait to come back again a month later for Labor day. Both times I had a suite. Having a kitchen is important to me. The second time one with a private jacuzzi on the porch. I think you can have a whole Keys experience right from this resort. My absolute favorite thing is relaxing in the chaise lounges on the waterside at night with the breezy night sky. (Lounge chairs usually get put away at night). I used the kayaks and the motor boats that are included. The motor boats can take you to the sand bars to anchor, out to snorkel, see a ship wreck, to tour the luxurious canals of Duck Key, and to the Dolphins. We saw a a lot of other wild life including sting rays horse shoe crabs, fish, shark (just a little one!), and Florida birds. The pool and heated jacuzzi overlooks the ocean and is available at dark (once again, I am used to amenities closing when I want to relax!). Breakfast is included. Rainbow Bend is also known for Hide Away Cafe. I am adding a photo of my son eating breakfast with the water in the background. This second trip, I brought my bike. The resort is on the Overseas bike trail. While cycling, I found a private pier on the gulf side if YOU MUST SEE the sunset from Marathon. I could spend a whole peaceful get-away right here, but the family did decide to go to Bahia Honda which wasn't very far then on to Key West for some Duvall Street. My kids also enjoyed the life size chess set. We used the oversized grill. Can't wait to come back!
