Just got back from an Easter vacation in the Keys. When we weren't on the water, we were eating at Porky's Bayside in Marathon. Beer was frosty cold. Food was great. We sampled both the bar-b-que and seafood. The signature fried key lime pie is a "must". Service was excellent -- even during the busy Easter week. A little slice of genuine Keys history -- no Tiki Hut imitation here. Local musicians are featured nightly, which adds to the already great atmosphere, right on the water. We also were able to check our e-mail thanks to the restaurant's free wireless internet.

Porkys bayside restraunt is one of those special kind of restraunts that can only be found in the Florida Keys. Located next to a bustling marina, it has that distinct Margaritaville-esque charm. The laid back atmosphere and delicious food makes it a great place to go, epsecially if your just coming off the water, or driving down to Key West. Good food, and good music, porkys has it all.

We have been vacationing in the Keys for 6 years & this is the worst restaurant in the Marathon area. BBQ? I don't think so, unless your idea of BBQ is everything cooked naked and then slathered with BBQ sauce (and not even a good BBQ sauce). Chicken was dry and tasteless, ribs were meatless, tasteless and fatty. Garden Salad was good. Service was slow, but it was crowded (hard to believe). It was very dark & the tables were not very clean. The entertainment was a "one man band" type - a bit quirky, but that's the Keys. Although the location was on the water (bayside), not a great view; just a bunch of boats tied up. I will never ever go back.

The seafood chowder was great, but we found the BBQ chicken overcooked and dry. We also ordered some BBQ ribs and they were also dry and if they didn't have BBQ they would have been terrible.
