Looking around after being seated by our very hospitable server, I noticed the array of objects hung and nailed to the walls and ceiling. Fishing nets, life-savers, posters, and fishing gear all were accounted for. It was the exact effect Red Lobster tries so hard to get, but this I could feel this was the real thing. We had a table right next to the marina and enjoyed the pelicans’ antics throughout our meal.
When it came time to order, our waiter had a little trouble (he told us he was from the Check Republic; English was his second language), but was very nice and checked on us regularly to make sure everything was fine. My order of conch fritters was quickly brought to the table, along with a side of, in all seriousness, the best fries I have ever eaten. The fritters were chewy, but that's the conch's fault not the chef's.
If there is only one reason that you should go there, it is the fried key lime pie. A frozen slice of the already delicious desert is coated in bread crumbs and then deep fried. Complemented with the perfect raspberry syrup, it is for sure one of the best things I have ever tasted. The calories can attest to that. Even if you don't want to have a meal at Porky’s, you must stop in for this little slice of perfect bliss.
