Annette's Lobster & Steak House is a truly forgettable restaurant.

We had lunch there on 1/2/08. My wife ordered a burger and I ordered a fish sandwich. It took 30 minutes for our order to arrive, it seemed longer. The food was okay, but not worth the wait.

While we were waiting my wife went to the ladies room. When she returned she commented that she thinks that we had been there before. The salad bar looked familiar. Apparently we ate there on our last trip to Marathon seven years earlier.

I am sure we will not be eating at Annette's Lobster & Steak House on any future trips to Marathon.

Didn't expect much as it was one of the few places open Christmas day. Pleased with the food, service was OK. We passed on the seafood for the classic Christmas turkey & dressing - definitely above average. All-in-all, a pleasant dining experience.

My family and I went to Annette's for dinner on 1/1/2008. I ordered the prime rib. It was the worst piece of meat I've ever seen. It was also almost raw. I told the waiter (Jim) that I didn't like the way the meat looked. He said "prime rib always has lots of fat." He took it away and brought it back ten minutes later cooked a bit more. It was inedible. I'm lucky, because everyone else in my family complained of stomach aches when we got back to our hotel. Annette's prices are for a decent restaurant, but the food quality is below a Denny's or Sizzler. The waiter wouldn't stop talking. Even when we didn't respond he kept on talking about how he was from New Jersey and on and on and on -- completely annoying. He also didn't tell us when we ordered entrees that if we wanted a soufle for desert we needed to order ahead of time because it takes 20 minutes to make. I was actually happy about this because the food was so bad. Also bad is the decor. Everything is dark wood, floor, ceiling, walls, table, etc. It's very depressing. From the road the place looks like a bunker. The only reason we went there was because my daughter read a review about the dessert and we wanted to please her. The bathroom was filthy and the trash basket was overflowing. Even though there were plenty of tables we were seated at a corner table next to an exit door. $135 dollars later -- I had the worst dining experience in recent memory and on top of it all I never got to eat my dinner -- because it was totally disgusting.

We accidentally ordered the "Broiled Seafood Platter" when we really wanted the "Boiled Seafood Platter". The "Broiled Seafood Platter" was terrible. Way too much seasoning on everything. However, we felt really stupid that we didn't reallize we ordered the wrong thing until we left. So, if you go don't order the "Broiled Seafood Platter" and if you do order the "Boiled Seafood Platter" let us know how it was.
