We accidentally ordered the "Broiled Seafood Platter" when we really wanted the "Boiled Seafood Platter". The "Broiled Seafood Platter" was terrible. Way too much seasoning on everything. However, we felt really stupid that we didn't reallize we ordered the wrong thing until we left. So, if you go don't order the "Broiled Seafood Platter" and if you do order the "Boiled Seafood Platter" let us know how it was.

Beware of this restaurant.

The "Captain Cut" prime rib needs to walk the plank. This meal costs $32, without the weight being given, and was just under 1/2 fat. Definitely not worth the price.

When we inquired the waiter regarding the piece of fat sitting on the plate, we were told this is their prime rib.

Later, when sliding the credit card, the waiter discussed the complaint with the owner. He does not have a quiet voice.

His response was, what type of cut was ordered?, Oh, well tough, that is what they get.

We did not even get a "thank you" or "see you again" from the owner, like many of the other customers at the restaurant.

We do not recommend this restaurant for the price of the food versus quanity and quality and does not compare to many other restaurants in Marathon. Keep driving and look for somewhere better.

The dining room was large but still managed to be cozy with charming “stained” glass port holes depicting underwater scenes in cooling shades of blue and green.
Two of us at the table had the coconut and pecan incrusted grouper with fruit compote;
firm, sweet and delicious. Another friend ordered the cowboy steak, a beautifully big chunk of bone-in ribeye, done to perfection. The waitress said dessert was there specialty, and I was tempted to try the warm applecrisp with icecream. The apples were sinfully gooey and the topping was crisp and crunchy.
The service was quick and professional. The menu is extensive with offering from prime rib, shell fish and seafood, pastas and chicken. The meals comes with a very nice soup and salad bar. I liked the big chunks of fresh pineapple offered in the fruit selection.
The prices per entress could get expensive (>35$) but the specials were reasonable at under 20$.

I'm a Yankee and a big city kid. The entire "Keys Experience" is so different from The Windy City that it took my third visit to brave a stop at Annette's. Our party of five tonight included The Husband, two teenage daughters, and one tired 10 year old son that has consumed nothing but chicken fingers for almost one week. We have been cooking in our rental house kitchen all week, so this was our "last supper" before flying back tomorrow.

I had relied on Trip Advisor for this meal. Thank you to previous reviewers.

We were immediately seated. Our waitress, redheaded, spunky Rachel, was extremely efficient. She was able to recommend items from the entire menu, knew the wine and drink selections, and most importantly, got the food to the table with perfect timing.

I wanted local fish; she recommended the Snapper Piccata. OUTSTANDING!! Fresh, sweet , well prepared. Even the side veggies were incredible. I had green beans, cauliflower, etc. along with red smashed potatos. The Husband had the crab stuffed lobster tail. Also out of this world. One daughter had marinated chicken, (she was very indecisive) and loved it; the other had the sauteed shrimp over pasta and was disappointed. (I tried it....it was rather bland, needed salt/seasoning.) Wine list seemed very good and extensive. I had an outstanding California Chardonnay.

Decor is very Keys kitsch. Salad and soup bar was fun. I normally shy away from restaurants with that set-up, but Annette's made it a great experience. Dinner for 5, including two appetizers (calamari and clams) and two drinks (martini and wine, both mine, ahhhh, thank you very much!) came to $145 before gratuitity.

On our way back to our rental car we noticed license plates from Alaska, Georgia, Maryland, etc. Not a tourist trap, just word of mouth proof of a fantastic restaurant!
