“Great Italian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant is in a small strip mall and is there is not much to rave about its deco, however the food is excellent. The roasted garlic in oil was a hit with everyone in our party, wow! The choices on the menu were typical American Italian and we all enjoyed our dishes, the side dish of spaghetti with olive oil and garlic was to die for, a perfect combination of sweet garlic and tasty olive oil. The only downside was that the restaurant itself was very hot, maybe the air conditioning was not quite meeting the needs of a packed restaurant. Make a resevartion if you go!

“Surprising”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

We expected a pedestrian italian place, given that the Keys seem to be limited to seafood, burgers and little else. My veal parm was very good, and they won my heart with bread served not with butter, not with olive oil, but with oil-drizzled roasted garlic. Could have had just that and I would have been impressed.

“Small restaurant, great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

Has great Italian food with sizeable portions. Service is good and friendly. A local's favorite. The restaurant is small but chef is revered by locals.

Bon appetit!

“Amore!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Tucked in a corner of a small shopping/office plaza, you would have no idea you could find maybe the best Italian in the Keys! Living in Key West, for years we have been trying to make it up to Frank's Grill - well today's the day, as Mel would have said! We started with a delicious loaf of warm bread (imported from Italy!), but best of all it is served with dipping garlic in olive oil as well as Balsamic vinegar and additional olive oil if you want to further dip. Next we had the Lobster bisque - Oh my! As an entree I had the stuff shells in a marinara sauce - deliziosa! 3 large shells stuffed with a mixure of cheeses and baked in a small casserole dish. My patner had the veal marsela, which is a favorite of his. Though it is not on the lunch menu, our server Brenda, told us dinner menu items were available for lunch (at a even lower price than dinner). The veal dish was served with a side baked potato, but pasta as a side was also an option. My dining companion enjoyed his veal as much as I loved my ravioli! Brend was fabulous and attentitive providing service that made the experience even more enjoyable. At lunch time this is an obvious locals favorite, and for good reason - great food, fair prices, and wonderful service! You will not be disappointed if you are looking for great Italian food in a casual atmosphere. Thanks Frank and Brenda - we'll be back next trip up the Keys. Note they are closed on Sundays and do not serve lunch on Saturdays - hey everybody deserves some time off!

“Must try”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

On our trip to the Keys, we dropped into Franks Grill. We selected it mainly off the reviews here on Trip Advisor. Well, thank you to both Trip advisor and the reviewers who steered us to a great dinner spot. Someone posted it was a hearty meal and they were right on point. It was a reasonably priced meal and I really enjoyed this small, warm restaurant. Great fried Mozzarella and Fried Calamari. The Lobster Bisque was spectacular. You just can't go wrong.
