Well, we stayed in one of the villas starting on june 8th for 5 days. I realize the keys are different and I have been there before, but the critters at this place were alittle much. The grounds are fairly nice, bougainvilla, nice pool and beautiful area by the ocean. Pool was nice=the good. There are huge iguanas there so please be careful they live there, hence the name of the bar. They also like to defacate around the pool area and is only cleaned once per day. That can be nasty. There was also a lizard and a cockroach in the room (yes i know what they are)=the bad. And the villas are big but they are very old and have a/c units in the down stairs. So the bedroom upstairs stays hot all night. They are old and tired looking mostly= the ugly. Whatever we needed we were able to get. The continental breakfast was the worst i've ever seen. Little Debbies, yep, that was it. There was also an internet cafe in the lobby with the bar. Weird!! but convenient. And if you go there try the Village Gourmet right next door. Great food and great prices with friendly employees. try the hilton key largo

“Villa suites are great for small groups and extremely convenient to diving!”

I stayed at the Days Inn, Islamorada, twice in 2008, in January and and June. In January, I stayed with a friend in one of the standard rooms. It was basic, clean and met our needs as we spent the entire time scuba diving at Key Dives, maybe half a mile away. The cost was very reasonable so we decided to stay again, in June, this time in the villa suite, since we there were four of us. The villa was very large, with a king size bed and pull out couch. The were two floors, with the bedroom with the bed overlooking a living area with the pull out couch, cable TV, a small dining area and a full kitchen, with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, sink, dishes and utensils. We really enjoyed the villa, as we were able to save money by cooking our meals and pack our lunches for our full day scuba excursions. Overall, we were happy with our stay except that the AC was on the lower level so it was very warm on the upper level that overlooked the living area. There was a ceiling fan on the upper level but it was still too warm and we had to request a floor fan which the hotel provided with no hesitation. Other then that, this is an excellent hotel for active travelers who aren't planning to spend time indoors. It is convenient to Bud & Mary's Marina, Key Dives, local restaurants and a 24-hour grocery store right down the street. I will return the next time I dive in Islamorada!

Just a weekend getaway, I have stayed here many times and enjoy my stay each time. This weekend there was entertainment at the Iquana's Patio a guitarist. Lots of people and fun. Met grandpa Iguana as named by the staff he just loves coming to the pool and sunning. We didnt bother him he didnt bother us. This resort just gets better and better. Each time I come there is something different going on,something to do for everyone. The staff as usual friendly and accomodating. I will keep coming here for a long time.

“Lots of Iguanas!!!!”

This was the last hotel on our two week trip through South Florida, and we didn't expect any magic really, just a pool to spend the day at and a bed to spend the night in. It was perfectly fine except for one small thing - the whole place was crowded by Iguanas (and they weren't so small!!!).
We arrived at the hotel early and the staff were very kind to accomodate us, we parked the car and set off to the pool. By the pool is a sign saying that there are cats and iguanas at the hotel "please be kind to them as they're our pets". We thought this was quite sweet until a HUGE iguana entered the pool area and proceeded to relieve itself at the poolside, at this point we took our things and ran. I'm sure Iguanas are quite harmless and wouldn't have got in our way of enjoying ourselves, however, when you are as petrified of reptiles as we are and also no nothing of an iguanas behaviour it was quite scary.

The rooms were ok, pretty standard for a motel. The area isn't very nice and there wasn't much to do, we couldn't find a good beach either which was quite disappointing on our last day. But we laughed about it and it's a fun story to tell.

If you're like us just looking for a pit-stop this is perfectly decent.

“Surprise Charge”

Days Inn & Suites Islamorada

Apr 7, 2008

Our stay was very pleasant. However, after checking out, my name was copied on a bogus Days Inn Islamorada receipt and my credit card was charged for a boat rental. The actual hotel does not rent boats. After several calls, faxing of bogus receipts, Days Inn Islamorada doesn't want to make this right over 3 months later.
