We did not eat here. We ordered iced lattes to go. They were exceptionally good. We chatted with one of the owners; she was delightful. The bakery case looked very tasty. It was a busy place right before lunch time. I would like to go back again.

Great local owners, fresh foods, lots of vegetarian foods, bakery items and eco-minded practices
I was disappointed with this place. We walked here from our hotel and got there doing a mini rush, which might have unfairly affected our experience. They ask you to order first and then find a place to sit, which to me is a stressful experience. When I come into what I think is a sit down restaurant, I want to be shown to a place to sit and then given time to peruse a menu. Instead, I found that I couldn't take a seat until I had made a selection, and waited in line behind people paying for their meal to put in my order. I ordered an omelet because it seemed simple. I might have a different review of the food if I had perused the menu more, but my omelette was just weird. The ham was sliced ham cut into small squares and apparently added at the very last minute along with the very small pieces of cheese. It was like a sandwich with eggs instead of bread. I think from looking at people around me that some of the food was much better. To me, messing up an simple egg dishes is pretty basic.
go there with lots of time and a mellow vibe and you'll probably be okay.
We visited Islamorada in mid-February 2008. We ate breakfast here every day--missing only Wednesday because they are closed on Wednesday.
Service: Great, friendly, smiling--from everybody. Folks who work here seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs.
Food: Great! Well prepared and presented with probably two dozen interesting breakfast selections.
Coffee: Wonderful. Best coffee place I have visited in ages...
Overall, this place ranks as my favorite in Islamorada. The food, the service, the attitude of the staff, all top-notch.
Stop here for breakfast, or lunch or just a coffee. It is a pleasant surprise!
We recently completed a 4 day stay in Islamorada. I think we stopped in the Midway Cafe almost everyday. After our first visit, we kept wanting to go back.
The sandwiches were fabulous. They carefully prepare everything right there with a lot of attention to fresh ingredients and combining flavors. We also enjoyed their baked goods.
Coffee is a passion to the owners. They take great pride in their roasts and the process. Ask them and try a few coffees before you leave!
The staff is very sweet. The dining area itself is bright, clean and inviting. I wish we had this place at home!
