Made last-minute reservations one recent weekend while visiting out-of-state friends who were staying at another resort (which was full).

The beach setting and outdoor pool and surroundings were breathtaking. The pool was very well kept and clean, the same for the outdoor chairs and tables. My husband had a good time fishing off the dock. We did lounge at the pool for a time. However, there were no tables to set anything on. It would've been even nicer if we could've had a drink while we were relaxing. Missed opportunity for extra income, in my opinion.

The room was disappointing. Our room and furniture needed updating and repairs. Very worn feel to it in general. The floors, towels and beds were clean. However, on first impression, when you walked to the door, the floor mat was well worn, the dead bolt at the jamb had a space where you could easily fit a screwdriver in it and the cleaning service had long neglected cleaning the fingerprints off the exterior and interior of the doors. Our air conditioner did not work initially, but the maintenance man attended to it immediately.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Patty, the front desk clerk, is a real plus. However, the staff is not in any sort of matching shirts or uniforms. Hard to distinguish who they were or what their functions were. I can understand casual beach setting, but this was a little too casual to my liking.

The resort was pretty much deserted while we were there. We only saw a handful of people there the whole weekend.

While I would stay here in the future, this would not be my first choice.

I had my wedding at Coconut Cove October 2012 and what we got was way more than we could have asked for. Paul and Magda make the process of planning and setting up for a wedding a breeze (thank god for that)! When they say they will take care of something, you can put it out of your mind! Just about everyone that attended the wedding stayed at the resort (which I highly recommend) and that made the weekend that much more better! All guest are still talking about EVERYTHING! The location, the food, the staff (which rocked!!), EVERYTHING!!! I highly recommend Coconut Cove to ANYONE that is looking for a beach wedding!

A complete and utter disappointment. We came here for Christmas vacation based upon all the glowing reviews. The grounds are beautiful - the pool breathtaking - and if we were sleeping outside that would be great. But this isn't a campground - it's a motel - and the rooms are horrific. Completely outdated - beyond uncomfortable beds - air conditioning units deafening - ants in bathroom - kitchen in bedroom.

I get rustic - but this place isn't rustic - it is run down.

If there were other guests staying there while we were they must have been hiding.

The only upside to our stay was Patty, a cheerful soul who did her best to make the place feel welcoming.

Still I couldn't help but be completely depressed by our accommodations.

If the owners don't have the money to upgrade the rooms they should seriously consider selling this place to someone who can. It can be so much more than it is.

This was peace, this was relaxation, this was getting away...while being perfectly located in the middle of all of the best action in Islamorada. Patty went above and beyond in helping us, and she made it feel more like home than like a resort. She was extremely friendly and great to talk to. As for the resort itself, the grounds always kept you in a keys state of mind, and I loved it at night- the giant tiki huts and festive lighting set the perfect keys vibe. And walking out two the farthest jetty and sitting at night- perfect sky gazing. We were within a few miles of everything we needed off the resort, including great food and water sports. My 5-year-old son still can't stop talking about it- the pool is ideal for kids, like a Disney pool. The fish pond was a hit, the dwarf attack chickens were a hit and the big iguanas were a hit.
