We planned our destination wedding this past Feb with 30 of our friends and family. We even came down and checked out the property before making reservations. But about 2 months before the wedding we get a phone call that they are doing some work on the water front but it should be done. Not only will it be done but it will be beautiful and updated. The only thing that has been updated is the pool! We not only had to move the wedding but all the group too.

I know that they have no control over weather and length of projects but we were treated terrible. Not only that but they promised people would get their money back and there would be no problems but that was far from the truth! They charged people, credited others!! It has been a mess!! 2 months later we are still trying to get the money fixed! They recently charged my mother over $400 and are saying that that was the card they had on that room so they can't help her. yeah nice.. not only did the mess my wedding up but 2 months later I am still trying to get my family and friends their money back!! Stay away!!

We live in South Florida and travel down to the Keys quite often(probably 6 times a year). We have checked out several places and stayed at a few. I have to say La Siesta is our favorite. We ended up staying there 5 times last year. you wont find a more friendly or helpful staff anywhere. The manager, Steve, has my kids spoiled! He goes out of his way to make sure they have a good time. The pool is definately the best in the Keys. It's huge and has a gradual slope perfect for young children. The boat ramp is very convenient. And my husband says the fishing is outstanding. He loves to sit outside at night and fish with the kids off the seawall. The view is beautiful and the location is perfect. Islamorada has fantastic shopping and there are several really good restaurants nearby (try Lazy Dayz !)
The rooms are clean (the furniture maybe a little outdated but very comfortable). Every room has a full kitchen and there are grills available. You can get anything from a one bedroom apartment to a 5 bedroom house. You can take a canoe for for the day are one of the bikes to ride around on. There is something for everybody. We met some nice people there are we are all planning on coming back at the same time this summer. A lot of the customers at La Siesta are returning families because we all know it is simply the best. I know the times we have spent there are memories my kids will look back on fondly.

This hotel was not perfect, but it was great for the price. The rooms may not be as updated or nice as other places, and the stairs very narrow, but what are you doing in the room so much anyhow?!

The real value in this resort is the extras! They were building a new pool and dock while we were there, so we had no access to there, but they offer FREE kayak rental, fishing rods and tackle, bikes... and a continental breakfast. Everyone learned our names, and it was a really nice experience.

Found this on the net and pictures looked great so I booked too quickly. We are pretty well traveled but, unfortunately, did not read the reviews ahead of time like we always do. Since we were only staying one night, we thought we could stand anything for one night.

1. No sheets/pillow case for pull out sofa. Found out at 9:30 that night and office was closed. Manager left a cell phone number to contact after hours. No call back...not even the next morning to apologize.
2. Rug in the entire apt was DISGUSTING, stained and 30 years old. Wore my flip-flops the whole time in the room. Pieces of broken glass found on carpet in middle of living room (guess they didn't vacuum before we checked in).
3. Sliding glass door took 15 mintutes of wrestling to try to lock.
4. Walls were in desperate need of painting. Chips/dents in walls.
5. Inside of fridge was rusty.
6. Switches to fans/lights broken. No light to even read by in the bedroom.
Overall, horrible room.

Pool was decent but a lot of construction going on. Hotel allowed pets and I smelled dog poop when we walked around outside.

I would not recommed this place at all. I complained upon checkout about all of this but who knows what will be done. There was certainly no mention of any sort of compensation made. We paid $220.00 for this room....WAY too much for this dump.

Look elsewhere for a room.
