this restaurant should be ranked higher. it is fabulous. we had the bread basket with roasted garlic and lobster. it was excellent! this restaurant and pierre's are by far the top two in islamorada!

My husband surprised me with a spa weekend at Cheeco Lodge & Spa. We asked the concierge for recommendations on where to eat. She suggested Uncles. When we pulled up, I will admit I wanted to go elsewhere. The outside looks a little run down. Not bad though. My husband suggested going in and looking at the menu and then deciding. We had reservations (made by the concierge for us) for outside seating, but when we got there, we asked to be changed to inside because there was smoking outside. They did it with no problem. We had a very attentive and courtious server. I had a steak. I asked for medium rare which was chef's recommendation. Let me tell you...that was the best steak I have had in years!!! It was cooked SO perfectly. I could not have done it better myself. They always kept our glasses full. It was a wonderful experience. We will definately be returning!!

My family has visited Islamorada for 17 straight years and have eaten in virtually every restaurant on the island. Uncle's is by the far the best place to dine. Start with a drink at the outside bar, hosted by Tony, who will amaze you with his magic tricks. More than likely the owner (Joe) will bid you welcome as you move to either the inside or outside dining room. Enjoy a fabulous meal at a place that really has a local flair. This year we were in the keys for ten days and ate dinner at Uncle's 5-times. NUFF SAID!

3 families traveled to islamorada the last week in March, 2006. Our resort recommended Uncles and we were not disappointed. We were a large group of 13, so they asked us to come early. We have a 6'o'clock reservation. They were not busy. Nice atmosphere, heaters when its' cold. It was not. My daughter and I ordered shrimp and scallops w/ pasta. After ordering our waitress came back and told us that the scallops had not come in that day, could she substitute lobster instead. Same price!! wow-it was awesome. My husband had the grouper and others had mahi mahi. It was outstanding. Even the kids had great meals.
