A friend and i decided to ride our Harleys to Outback, looking forward to familiar food that all Outbacks offer. We are both professionals and travel frequently for business throughout the US & Europe. Outback is pretty much the same everywhere - except here.
We sat at the small outdoor bar. The bar tender was occupied talking to a young bikini clad girl. He turned to us and said "help ya?" We ordered an iced tea and a lite beer. He said "I'll have to go inside to get you a tea," as if it would inconvenience him. I asked for menus at the same time and he sighed and got us two.
He turned his attention back to the young girl. I said "we're ready to order" and he gave us an inconvenienced look. He took our order and then took it inside. He returned with my iced tea and then went back to talking to the young girl.
Meanwhile, a group of 5 sat at an outdoor table. A waitress appeared. He filled their drink orders. I'd say 20 minutes passed and the waitress returned with the table's food! The bartender had not gone inside to check on our food. The waitress served the table and then came over and said something to the bartender. He went inside and brought our food out. I was out of iced tea and my friend had an empty beer glass. The bartender ignored that. I had to say "excuse me.... I'd like another iced tea." Again, the glare from the bartender and without word, he went inside to get the tea.
The food was mediocre. The fries were soggy and the burger bun was soggy and the burger medium warm. For sure, the food had been sitting there for some time.
I am not sure why the bartender had such a horrible attitude towards us. Maybe because we rode motorcycles and he hates "bikers?" Or maybe he was just too interested in getting a date with the young girl? Or, maybe he just thought he would never see us again.... which is true because we will NEVER return to this Outback.
