“The nicest place I've ever stayed in Florida!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2006

My husband and I stayed at the Pines and Palms last week for a 5 day mini vacation. I had never been to the Keys before and I must say, I want to go back every year! The rooms were very charming, very CLEAN, and the staff was so nice. The whole property was neat and tidy. We met other guests who were delightful. It's halfway between Key West and Miami so it was the perfect spot to be in, away from commercialism, but close enough to spend a day in Key West and one at the various State Parks around the area. Overall, it was the most relaxing, nice vacation I've had in awhile. Thanks to everyone at the Pines and Palms Resort!

Pines and Palms is the best place in the world!!!!
We stayed three weeks in Pines and Palms - the most wonderful place to relax, to have fun, to have a really nice vacation.
We love Pines and Palms, the very friendly people (best service we ever had :-)), the owner, the staff... all is absolutely perfect.
The area is very nice and clean, lots of space, a free boat ramp, nice new docks for watching wonderful sun risings...
The rooms are so cute, perfect clean and very nice.
We will be back as soon as we can!
Thanks for all - you are the best!!!

Worst experience of our lives
My wife was pregnant but only in her 16th week and she had bad morning sickness while staying here. The Owners asked us to change rooms becuase the room did not smell that pleasent and they were concerned about there next "important" guests. We left 2 days before regular checkout and they still charged us in full.
What a ripoff

We just got back from the Pines and Palms in Islamorada- a very nice relaxing place --it was very clean and cute and very small. If you want to be casual and "live" on the beach the resort offers little cottages "right on the beach" and the surroundings are beautiful. You can walk around at night and feel safe since it's a 25 room motel key west style/cottage complex. The pool was small but quite good and always clean... I swam AM and PM it was great. Like most beaches on the keys this one had lots of coral but if you wanted to wade in there were spots to do that (wear water shoes) It had a fishing pier as well. We ate in our unit 50% of the time ...the Bar-b-ques that the resort offers on loan uses carcoal brickettes... we almost forgot how to start a fire since at home we rely on a gas grill. But it was great fun to griil our steak dinner and have a bottle of wine on our little deck on the Atlantic. The steaks are available at a nice grocer (just north of the resort) called "The Trading Post" open 24 hrs -they have everything. The room was spotless with a great Kingsize bed -very comfortable. The AC was excellent. If you're looking for Big this isn't it ...this is small, cozy, comfortable and relaxing. One draw back,,,my husband needed to use his laptop for business (yes I know we're supposed to be away on vacation) and there was no wireless in the room...he had to go up to the office and even then he had problems connecting (leave your computer home!) The staff was very friendly and we did RELAX. A nice day trip was the "Lady Islamorada" a 60' day charter boat tht leaves the dock at 9:30 AM from Bud and Mary's Marina and returns 4:30PM great fishing!!! for $60 US per erson. We caught 8 "Mangrove Snappers" took 2 back to our place to cook...it was delicious fish. Pines and Palms also provides free docking if you bring or come by boat. Bottom line if you want to relax and be very casual on the beach and don't mind the cozy accomodations Pines and Palms resort is lovely. We would definitely go back -love the Islamorada area.

We stayed at the Pines & Palms the first weekend in May 2006 with two other couples. We stayed in one of the ocean front rooms which was a few dollars more. The other two couples stayed in "rooms on stilts" behind us. All three rooms were very nice and clean. Our room opened to an unobstructed view of the ocean. The rooms were very neat and clean for as old as the buildings were. You can tell the owners and staff take pride in the facility, even if it was built more than 50 years ago! Our room had a clean updated kitchenette and the entire room had been recently retiled with ceramic tiles. The bathroom was small as most were from that era. However, it was clean and as updated as it could have been without a complete overhaul and remodel.

The pool area was very clean with plenty of lounge chairs and SUN! The water was clean and refreshing!

Even though it appeared that the place was completely sold out, it was very quiet and relaxing.

We were very apprehensive about staying there, but once there all of our worries vanished. We would certainly recommend this place to others looking for a quiet get away.

My wife and I have been coming to Pines and Palms twice yearly for the past 5 years or so and we absolutely adore it. From the minute you arrive and are greeted by the super friendly staff to the minute you leave, everything is just perfect. The resort and the rooms are spotlessly clean, the beach and the swimming pool are immaculate. Even when the resort is full (which it mostly is), it still feels like there is no-one there. It is quiet and relaxing and you have the opportunity to do as much or as little as you would like - whether it's relaxing on the beach, fishing from the dock, reading under the shade of a palm tree, or exploring the area on a kayak. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area and the owner has thoughtfully put together a comprehensive review of them which should help you decide which ones to visit. Although as a Weber barbecue is supplied with your cottage, you may just want to buy some fish or steaks and barbecue them yourselves. It's that sort of place - you can do whatever you like. The staff and the owners are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. We have travelled extensively and Pines and Palms is by far our favourite place in the world to visit.

We were looking for a quick getaway from the city ... who knew we'd find such a sweet place to stay! The rooms are THE CLEANEST I've ever seen...houskeeping was just amazing. Sure, it's not a real beach, but where in The Keys is a 'real' beach??? It's got a nice pool set on the ocean and the staff was terrific, truly helpful and very friendly. I know we will be back and will definitely recommend it to friends and family.
