My husband and I were so excited to be getting some down time, and a long weekend to relax. We had booked at this "Resort" a few weeks prior. What a mistake. From the minute we entered the lobby, we were not greeted. It was as if we did not drive 200+ miles to get there--no one looked at us at first. There was one agent working with a "walk in" that got a MUCH BETTER rate than we did, with upgrades. DO NOT BOOK ONLINE--just show up and they kiss your bottom. Once the rude agent, who acted as if we were bothering her, checked us in...the room was another story. I CRIED. I did not think that I could sleep in this disgusting place. It smelled like urine and was humid sticky inside. Went to the beach the next day, and was approached by a young girl demanding 10.00 for our charis. We said that we would move, we were guests, to the pool area. We were told it was the same price if we sat at the pool. We paid the 10.00. I found that the GM was not ver sympathetic to our room condition or that we were very surprised we had to pay for the chairs. He was very defensive saying "all guests are told at the time of the reservation" we were not, and the rooms are "old" we were told. We told him about the front desk treatment and why would we ever want to come back after what all we have been through during our short stay, we were told, give up the room I can rent it tonight! This was all the ED (per his nametag) had to say to us. Not one apology, excuse or any attempt to please us at all! He acted as if we were bothering him too...staff changes (yes there are plenty of people out that looking for jobs that are ACTUALLY people persons and appreciate our business!!) and a face lift would do amazing things for this hotel.
