“Would be worse if not for staff....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Well, it was supposed to be a nice weekend getaway, but this place is a mess. Even though most of the rooms were renovated recently, they are still disgusting! The building is old, nothing is maintained and updating the tile and decor in a room and leaving the bathroom original, is not a renovation! Our room had ants, dirty floor, more ants, ceiling damage, that was patched and painted multiple times with multiple different colors and the room was just overall dirty. I don't expect a perfectly clean room in the Keys, but I do not accept ants on every surface of the room, my feet getting dirtier from walking inside then on the beach and a bathroom with rust and mold. There are many other things I found but you get the idea. On a positive note, the staff was polite and they did everything they could to try and help me. All the Front Desk Staff should be congratulated for doing a great job including Tia, Ashley, Nikki, Anthony and the new front office manager. Thank you all for trying so hard! I would be giving this place one star if it wasn't for them.

I have one gripe with this hotel. So before I gripe, let me say that this hotel is remodeled, and is a very nice choice. You will feel comfortable in the high thread count sheets and beautifully tiled room. If you have a boat or Jet Skis the dock is ideal to tie up and there are some really nice Ticki bars to have fun at. Now for my gripe. There was a gigantic roach on our ceiling when we arrived. It took two phone calls to get it removed. Now being in the tropics pests appear, even in nice hotels from time to time and I wont hold this against this hotel, BUT first the maid that turned the room before we got there ignored the roach and then it took hours and two calls to get management to come take care of it and that really upset me. When paying more than $200 a night I expect much more and for that I say F..

We were a little nervous when we pulled off the highway into the car park but were pleasantly surprised when we got inside the very cool, tranquil reception area. A bit disappointed when we realised that they had automatically put us in a family room which we don't remember requesting. Very nicely done rooms with excellent beachfront position; plenty of space in the sleeping area, enormous beds with plenty of pillows and great aircon. But bathroom was very small for 5 of us (incl 3 teenagers) and in desperate need of updating.
Great atmosphere onsite especially at the weekend. Good food and plenty of places to purchase beers/cocktails. Lovely location right on the beach.
Did the JetSki tour with the onsite organisers - highly recommend. Was great fun and great value if there are a group of you.
Family did 3 Scuba Dives with the onsite Dive Shop - excellent. Watch out for the Fire Coral allergic reaction from the wreck dive. One daughter got very seasick on the dive and was very well looked after by the staff.
Would definitely return but would request our own room next time and enquire whether bathrooms had been improved. Great place to stop off for a few days on way to Key West.

$300 a night for a terrible room. Mold in showers. Musty / moldy smell! (cant put that in a picture) Headboard smelled. The showers were painted in ceramic paint an chipping like crazy. Please look for my pictures. Service was actually pretty good. We went down to complain. They moved our room but we still experienced something awful. I swear there was a rat in the ceiling chewing away. The DJ in the tiki bar was so loud and kept us up. We finally packed our things, requested our money back and drove back home at midnight. Luckily we live in Florida.

We had a great time and the accommodations were great. Everyone there went out of their way to make it an enjoyable stay. Hazel and Anthony at the front dest to Richard Ratliff the mgr. The views are spectacular and the location is great. They have one of the nicest beaches in all the Keys with the sandbar right nearby. For a boater or thrill seeker they have something for everyone. I was able to fly on one of those Jetpacks above the water. The owner Justin was fantastic. He has the patience to guide you through the whole experience. I would recommend the Postcard Inn to anyone looking to relax or have lots of fun with many different types of water sports. Ed and Lance who run the waverunners and boat rentals were also an asset to the resort. With multiple Bars for the thirsty and restaurants for the hungry, there is no need to travel to far from the resort. Bob K.

Room Tip: Any one of the renovated rooms will be good. They are all close to the center of activity.

We called many hotels throughout the Keys that had boat rentals and a marina, and this was the best deal we found. The rooms are 75% updated with the bathrooms lacking a little updating and the A/C units as well. The decor is really stylish and appealing, with a beach/nautical theme. We did have a problem with super tiny black ants getting into our donut box overnight, but apparently they are the norm in the Keys; however, hey do not bother you whatsoever. Our air conditioner was coming away from the wall and you could see faint cracks to the outside, but it was something that could be fixed had we the time to wait for a maintenance man (which we did not). The hotel property is amazing, with tiki bars, docks, pools, beaches, and all sorts of activities you can do. There is even outdoor fire pits lit up for you to sit around and enjoy, it was beautiful! Overall, it was a great hotel, especially for people going in and out of the ocean with fishing, swimming, and diving gear. It meets your needs!

Incredible views but from our room but customer service was lacking. The first day we checked in , our key card was not working. After multiple attempts a young kid from the engineering department stopped by. We were hoping he would fix the issue, but he took one look and said "sorry, i do not have the tools to fix this door tonight but we will send someone over first thing the following day." Shockingly no one stopped by for 2 full days. After waiting 2 days, i stopped by the front desk again and they said they would send someone over from engineering to fix. This time, the worker told us the truth that they are unable to fix the door and it needed to be re-programmed. So basically since we were located on the 1st floor, we walked in and out of our room through our sliding screen door. There is no maid-service at this hotel unless you request it. So everyday we called the front desk so they can have maintenance send us down 2 new towels every morning. The resort grounds were pretty nice. There were 2 swimming pools, 1 with a pool bar. They had a raw bar that served drinks and simple meals (sandwiches) and breakfast which was a plus (starting at 7:30am). The "famous" tiki bar on site. Not sure why its so famous. I thought this place was pretty boring. The bartenders weren't friendly and it was only upbeat in there on Saturday night. Every other day of the week was like watching paint dry.

Sadly for the cost of the room ($290) my husband and I expected better customer service. But overall the resort was decent

Room Tip: stay in the newer buildings (100 & 200) facing the ocean.
