This was our first visit to the Florida Keys, & the reef diving is spectacular to say the least! We saw a vast array of different corals, tropical fish, a school of barracuda's, moray eels, dolphins, & even a Hawksbill Turtle just to name a few. I now see why Scuba Diving Magazine rates Islamorada in it's "Top Ten" dive destinations for North America.
Marcia from Key Dives responded quickly to my e-mail, & set my wife & I up with a dive package that included 3 two tank boat dive's & accommodation at Lindback's La Siesta Resort. Both the dive shop & the resort were a perfect match for our honeymoon, & very reasonably priced to boot!
They call this “Carribean Style Diving”. That means they take care of everything for you, from loading & assembling all your gear, to changing the tanks after your first dive, & they even wash your gear for you after the dives are complete. For U/W photography, they carry a bucket of fresh water to store your camera in until you arrive back at the dock. A divemaster also accompanies you on every dive at no extra charge other than tip. This was all very luxurious, & overall a pleasurable experience, especially for our first time diving salt water!
My wife & I plan to return to Islamorada soon, & when we do, Key Dives will be our choice once again for diving the reefs.
Thank you Mike & Marcia! And also many thanks to the divemaster’s & the whole Key Dives crew that made our entire Keys vacation so enjoyable!
