“LOVELY CLEAN ROOMS BUT!!!!!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2010

Okay, once you have been to the bar for your keys and got over the shock being British I am been in worse so no problem there, you are in for the surprise of your life. The rooms are beautifully renovated, clean and comfortable. With private patio and outside shower, table and chairs. Beautiful swimming pool and querky outdoor bar area. There is a microwave and a fridge, and here is the but, there are no cups, plates, knives forks or glasses so those of you who do not wish to venture to the restaurants on an evening will have to or go to the bar that is there (maybe that is what they want). Anyway, ventured to the bar early evening very cheap and inexpensive $10.60 for 6 beers, very friendly bar staff and locals (note there were vertually no you people there, all 30, 40 and 50 if not older, dog friendly and loads of mad cats.

We had to cut the visit down one night and received a no quibble refund, pricing of rooms may be a bit on the high side, but we certainly recommend for one or two nights and would certainly use this hotel again.

We decided to stay one night in the middle of the Keys as part of our trip so my wife could swim with dolphins, after doing the customary scour of Trip Advisor, Ocean View looked like a good bet, and it was.
We arrived early afternoon (after the fantastic drive!!!) had lunch and a couple of drinks, both were great, as was the service and the view from the back bar is great.
After the dolphin swim we went for dinner elsewhere, and then came back for a few drinks. I love American bars - sitting round, listening to the locals (it's a local bar) and chatting with the barmaid.
I retired suitably drunk wo our room which was great, very clean, big TV, nice area to sit out outside, with access to the pool.
All in all a great choice.

Our stay was over the 4th of July weekend and what an unexpected surprise! The hotel may look somewhat deceiving from the outside (a hotel & sports bar within the same building?!?), but everything from our room, the staff, and drinks were great. The rooms were very cute, well decorated, comfortable, and most importantly very clean. Even their towels & linens were soft and smelled like my own clean laundry at home. The staff was very friendly (check-in is at the sports bar...don't worry there's a sign that points you in the right direction). And finally, the sports bar was a lot of fun. It is very casual with lots of fun games to play (beer pong, pool tables, etc.). In particular, the bartendars will play a game with you...once you order your drink they will flip a coin to see if you can win the drink for free! So you always have a 50-50 chance of getting free drinks in their bar. Great place overall...definitely will stay there again!

Really clean place but disappointed with the bar maid who intentionally placed a bunch of drinks on my tab because some other people stiffed her - Very Lame - Be VERY CAREFUL with your credit card or end up being cheated - Otherwise ok place.

This was a truly a great place to stay. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were very nice and spacious. We had a blast at the bar. The staff was excellent. They also knew a lot about the area. It is defiantly a local pub. The food was great. We will surely stay here again!

We spent 4 nights 3 days here, the staff were all friendly, service was great, room was clean, we give them an A+ all around. We sat around the pool most afternoons relaxing and having a drink. This is a great place to kickoff your flipflops and enjoy the laid back Keys atmosphere, you have a view of the bay from the pool and outside bar area, but you walk a few feet back towards your room and you have privacy, so it is the best of both worlds! The location is great you are in the middle of the Keys so you can spend your days sightseeing other areas and then come back to the OV and feel like you are at home!! If you are looking for a place to stay I would certainly give the OV a try, we loved and we will be back some day to visit again..

I truely wanted to be selfish and not disclose this hidden gem, because I wanted it to stay my husband's and I special hideaway . However, I needed to share the wonderful experience we had and the best staff and accommondations we have encountered in a long time. I read all the recent travel post and we even cheated by checking out the place before we went to Key West. Yes initially, I was intimindated by the front bar but the minute we sat down and started talking to everyone. I wanted to cancel going to Key West and stay here for the whole week. We finally got to check in to the cutest decorated rooms and the absolutely most comfortable beds. Hawaii, forget about it.. when you walk out to your secluded patio, it is an island dream, palm trees and your own lime tree. Perfect little pool and a wonderful mangrove walk.
Now, you can never beat the staff that works at this place. We did catch a glipse of the owner Gary whom was very personable with the locals. However, he should thank his lucky stars that he has such wonderful people. All the bar staff was so happy, kind and truely professional, they work their butts off. The food was can't be beat . Flip night crazy fun! The lovely ladies at the outside bar are commendable and referred us to a great local fishing trip. We had a ball and brought our fresh catch back and the great chef cooked it and it was the best meal I ever had.,although my husband says his steak was even better.. Kudos to this wonder establishment, Gary, his wife whom decorated the rooms, cooks, and a wondeful bar staff.. Less not forgot all the locals we meant that made this a truely memorable experience.
