“Great place both times!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

We took our kids on our 2nd trip to Islamorada. They loved it as much as we did. The hotel is such a great place for families. Since it's a brand name, you know what to expect. Nice, clean rooms. A good, hot breakfast. And this location is ideal. Oceanfront, with beach area. Nice pool & hot tub. Super friendly staff. Great place all around - wouldn't hesitate to go back. A real resort feel to the place.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool if oceanfront isn't an option. The pool setting is beautiful...

We had a huge room and it was not an upgrade. stayed Friday and sat june 29th and 30th. The people at the front desk attended to our every need. Please be advised this is not a beach, its a seawall with a very nice "beachy" area with a playground and some hammocks. I did have to complain that the pool area and the beach area were not cleaned when I went down by the pool on Sat morning. but they had it cleanded up in less than 15 minutes. The free breakfast is very good you just can't beat it...any breakfast like that would be a min of $10 per person. The pool is packed of course and we did find out some of the kids where employee's kids who were left unattended. I really hope they resolve this problem. overall, its convenient and clean.

Room Tip: Always ask for an upgrade and make sure you stop and get coupon books located in most hotels and res...

I booked a room believing that it was a suite - that all of the rooms were suites. When I learned that the room was not a suite, I asked to upgrade. I was told that would not be possible - even though I was willing to pay full difference in price and suites for those dates were available.

Room Tip: Understand that despite the hotel name, not all of the rooms are suites.

Stayed at the Hampton for 5 days June 2012 while on a diving vacation. We had a 2 bedroom unit with 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room.

Pros: Very friendly staff. Quiet. Excellent breakfasts which varied daily. Clean. Nice pool. Next to an Outback restaurant with a bar by the pool. Clean beach. Decent gift shop.

Cons: Beds are a little hard. Small beach. No movie channels. They did not refill in room coffee but coffee is always available in lobbly.

We did not use their diving facilities. There are many close by. We used Conch Republic Divers in Tavernier.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors are quieter.

First of all, the place was very clean. I had a wedding in Islamorada that week so we had a lot of guests staying there and the hotel staff was so accommodating to all of us- The rooms that we had were suites looking over the water and they were absolutely beautiful and had more than enough room. The outside pool and beach area was great and it was nice to have the Outback tiki bar right there too. The breakfast probably wasn't be best I've ever had, but they had a lot of choices so it was okay. I will definitely stay here again and again.

Room Tip: Get a suite that overlooks the water- beautiful views!

Lisa gave two friends and I hourlong massages for a great price during our stay in Isla Morada. While one was getting her deep tissue fix, the others lounged oceanside. Lisa's strong, capable hands worked their magic on each of us, though we all had very different needs. Check out her website at www.getamassageinislamorada.com. We rated her 5 stars, and hope to see her when we return.

The Hampton Inn and Suites was nice for a weekend get away but I would probably not stay her for longer than that. The place was clean even though it is an older property in need of some facial remodeling. Elevators were very slow and there was a considerable amount or wear and tear rust around the property. Salt water will do that but paint will cover it up. Our 2 bedroom 2 bath suite was nice but we were a bit surprised that each bedroom only had one double bed. That is standard on this property for their suites. The queen pull out sleeper was bigger than the bed. The bedding was clean (I checked) and the sleeper was even comfortable. Bathrooms were very small but they were clean. Kitchen was good. (2 burner stove, sink, regular sized refrigerator) and kitchen table. Plenty of room to move around and 3 tv's were nice. Housekeeping was alright....very slow and like to start early in the morning. Breakfast was fine. Lots of choices but not lots of place to sit. Nice to take breakfast out to beacy area and watch boats on the bay. Nice beachy area with lots of palm trees and 2 hammocks. NOT A BEACH. There is a seawall with a boat marina and stairs that go into the water from the seawall. The beach lounges were on sandy ground above the seawall. It was not that big of a deal to not be able to walk from sand to water. The location is great and if you want to rent jet skis or do a few other water sports, it is right on property and the people who run "Sea Monkey's" are very nice and safety conscious. I recommend booking the 2 hour jet ski island tour. It was alot of fun for $150 per jet ski (2 people per ski) We didn't eat at the on property Outback Steak House but it was plenty busy and they let you eat your food around the pool deck if you wish. I liked that this hotel was very vacation oriented as they didn't have a lot of rules that you could and couldn't do. Alcohol was fine, anywhere on property as long as it was not in a glass container. That was a good thing as we spent alot of time out by the marina beach. The check in was good, the hotel was good, the weather was great! Islamorada has some great restaurants and it is so close to Miami that I will definitely return.

Room Tip: Poolside rooms are quiet. Walls seem pretty thick. Higher floors allow you to see both sides of the...
