My wife and I enjoyed the personal attention we received from the owner (Mark) and the newly renovated suites were beautiful. We both enjoy playing tennis and the new clay court was just steps from our room. The beach front is beautiful, very quiet and private. We recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a romantic, relaxing get away. A true treasure in the keys! We are planning to go back and meet our extended family there for a reunion during the holidays.

A friend and I decided to head to the Keys to do some diving and just relax for the weekend. This small, vintage 2-story motel type property has been completely remodeled in a very tasteful and quite upscale way – think marble, large tile and flat-screen TVs. There are only 8 suites, all of which look directly onto the beach. Ours had a well-equipped kitchen and a private patio. First floor rooms have sliding doors that open directly onto the beach. The rooms are large, very clean and you could see the ocean from our bed. The large beach is very secluded and has fantastic white powder sand which beckons even beach-wary travelers such as myself, surrounded by tiki torches in the evening. A large tiki hut sits off to the side of the beach which provides shade and patio tables. There is no restaurant on site but the property has great BBQ grills for guests’ use. There is also a tennis court on property and a pool will evidently be built shortly. This is not the hotel for those looking for wild, on-site bars and 24-hour room service but it’s perfect for a quiet beach getaway. Having a large, private beach was a huge plus. Of course all the attractions of Islamorada are just a walk or short drive off property. The owner, Mark, was very jovial and extremely helpful. This is a great find for those looking to avoid the large resorts and “spring-break” style hotels.

My wife wanted to take our two children for the weekend down to Islamorada in the Florida keys. I went on line and came across a new property called Ocean Dawn suites. I booked the fourth of July weekend and we drove down from Miami. The room was large and bright with two queen beds and pullout couch/bed , a microwave and a frig. Everything was brand new! Super clean.
The property itself has a tiki hut where we grilled fresh fish from the islamorada fish market and watched fireworks. the little beach area is powder white sand and at low tide we went for an adventure exploring the tidal pools...Our children had the time of their lives. The salt water swimming pool will be completed sometime in december and we are going back for an extended stay. A truly wonderful safe fun place for families...Bill Wayne

My wife and I were looking to getaway for the July 4th weekend. After researching and consulting with roughly 15 hotels in Islamorada and Key Largo area, we decided on Ocean Dawn. When compared with other accommodations in the area, Ocean Dawn blows them away. Only months old, it's the newest hotel on the island and offers state of the art, appliances, comtemporary art and furniture. It's provides the high quality interior comforts of a Ritz Carlton, along with a secluded beach and private area for tennis, outside dining, grilling or simply laying on the beach. We enjoyed a large wall unit flat screen TV, a walk-in shower, and glass sliding door that opens up to the beach and sea. We could see the sea from our bed, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We even slept on the quiet secluded beach for a few hours under the stars. I would highly recommend it for couples or small families, wanting to get away from the crowd and noise of the Keys. Mark is a great guy and will work to make your stay the best. He seemed to take a personal interest in our happiness and comfort. That made the experience unique and memorable.
