“Not Much Here”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

There is not much here but it is free and if you are arriving by cruise ship and it is your only chance to see displays describing Southern Florida’s ecosystems, it is probably worth a short visit. However, if you have spent any time at the Everglades or Key Biscayne National Park or Pennakamp Coral Reef State Park, I would not bother with the Eco-Discovery Center as the information and displays at these other locations is much better and more in depth.

“Nice short stop while exploring Key West”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

My husband and I found this while taking the Citi View trolley for the day. It is free to get in and operates from donations. This is nice because most of the KW attractions are over priced. The Discovery center is a great place to learn a little bit about Florida's natural habitats. There is even a theater with some narrated underwater footage. I think that this is a spot for kids and adults. There are some really nicely done exhibits reflecting different types of habitats and some of them are interactive. This is no a huge building and does not take much time out of your day to experience so it is worth stopping by especially when taking a tour that stops right out front. There are also nice bathrooms here and drink machines if you need a break from the hot day.

“A must see in Key West”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Very interesting and informative of ocean life around the Key West waters. It really opens up your eyes of the life in the surrounding oceans. A great place to spend about an hour or so.

“Uninspiring”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

Admission is free, so I feel like I shouldn't complain, but the informational video was so dull and irrelevant, I fell asleep. The exhibits were ok, but there are many other more interesting places to see in Key West and its environs.

“Interesting exhibits and a fun learning experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

Another very worthwhile and free attraction. Especially enjoyed the coral reef and tropical fish tanks. Be sure to catch the short video, Reflections of the Florida Keys.
